    From Canzano’s column today:

“A little birdie tipped me off with a photo that showed a moving truck parked in the driveway of Derrick Jones Jr.’s house this weekend. All his stuff was piled in the garage and the trucks were out front. Jones Jr. holds a player option with the Trail Blazers this summer. Wonder where he’s moving?”

Actually if he opts out I wonder if we could maneuver ourselves into using the full MLE. The hard cap will be around 140 million, and we would be close to that right now if we just resigned Powell to 20M/year. Take off DJ's 10 million and we have some room, although it's probably too difficult to use the full MLE and then have to fill the rest of the roster spots out.

opting in isn’t the worst thing. He immediately becomes a decent sized expiring.

We'd have a lot more room if we could get rid of a chunk of CJ's contract. Just sayin'.

Speaking of Hood, can we sign him after trading him last year? He's been in Portland for the last 2-3 months just working out, and I think he would sign a vet-min here if he could. Could be a bargain signing like Batum the year before...

    Actually I found it:

    Pretty sure we can.

Fwiw Jones may have been living in someone else’s house. I know Roco and Powell were. Could just be moving somewhere more permanent. I don’t expect him to opt out tbh. He’s probably never seeing money like that again.

Yeah players can always sign with any team once their contract ends.

The restrictions are when theres a buyout so the team can't trade them and get them back during the same season.
