I'd only be okay with Drummond if he's cool with a role coming off the bench and picking up the dirty work Kanter leaves behind when he comes off the court. I think Drummond is still decently valuble as rebounder and we could use some consistency on the glass. anything more than that.. not interested.
Drummond makes just under $29,000,000. The only way that trade is happening is CJ unless you really start gutting your team and sending out multiple plays. Don't see it.
Only plausible trade scenario is CJ for Drummond, and unless Dame is 100% behind it, I doubt it would make sense or work.
CJ for Drummond, this year's first (unprotected) and a couple of the massive amount of second round picks they have. I'm all for trading CJ... obviously but we have to get something really valuable in return and Drummond is not that, especially since we might be able to get him for the min if we just hold out. Cap space doesn't mean a lot to us because we don't really attract the kind of free agents that can be impact second options.
The only way it could happen is if there was a buyout and if that happened he could pretty much choose from all thirty teams. Why would he take Portland when they have one healthy center that they really like and another coming back in maybe 5 weeks? He is in his contract year so that would not be very smart.
