Ed Davis I am amazed by how high this guy's ceiling is and the tools he has to make him a great player. I expect him to have a great season next year, averaging more than 10 rebounds and around 17 points. I hate UNC with a passion so this is hard for me to admit that I really like one of their players, but this guy is going to be good. I wish he was in the draft this year because I would of really wanted the Grizzlies to get him. Davis and Willie Warren are two sophomores that I expect will have First-Team All-American type seasons.
Re: Ed Davis Willie better hope Avery Bradley and Xavier Henry aren't as good as hyped or else he's gonna have a long year in the Big XII. That being said, both with be All-Americans, 1st, 2nd or 3rd.
Re: Ed Davis Willie Warren had great games when Griffin was out. I am confident he will do a great job being "the man."
Re: Ed Davis Plus He's getting great talent too. Gallon and Mason-Griffin are going to be sick. He'll be fine.
UNC will be in serious trouble next year unless Harrison Barnes is the Second Coming. I don't see that.
^I don't know if I agree. Couldn't his numbers / stock actually go down with the addition of Barnes / Bullock and the "emergence" of Henson? Add in the possibility of the lock-out. After all, the guy's projected to be a Top 10 pick. He probably should have left last year, ala Marvin Williams.
Well I can't blame him for leaving. If UNC tanks again next year his stock could go way down. I've always been a fan of "get out while the getting is good".
I don't think it's a matter of his draft stock but moreso his development. He's obviously not ready to even become a relevant player. Not much else to say, really. I hope he proves me wrong.
I've said the same thing about Wall. He didn't prove to me that he was good enough to be drafted let alone the #1 pick. I'm serious. Cousins on the other hand...
Well, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I'm not saying Wall is terrible. Wall is at least 50% hype. He had his moments for the good and he had his moments for the bad. Cousins wasn't expected to do what he did. He really worked his ass off to get where he is now. Another year of college would have been good for Wall but when you're guaranteed the #1 spot how could you not leave?
The question I always ask when entering the draft is: Will ______________ contribute to his team at his current level of play? If you took John Wall right now, I can pretty much guarantee he'd help out that team with his prowess and overall ability to do it all; however, I question his will to win. On the other hand, when I look at Cousins I see a guy who, if he stays, can further develop his (currently-underdeveloped) game to becoming one of the most dominant college players of all time. One more year and Cousins should be ready. Right now, I just don't think he'll have the impact that Evan Turner or John Wall will this year. Hopefully I'm wrong.
It's really something to think about... some of these guys staying 3 or 4 years. As long as the $$$ is out there it will never happen though.
