Maybe he accept the MLE, and Neil tells him he gives him a higher contract in 2020. Olshey gave him that 70/4 contract in 2015.
is it really illegal? I mean, the GM and the agent are talking about the tax-MLE. The GM says he'll give the player a two year deal with a player option for the 2nd year. Then suggests that if the player opts-out, he might be able to get a max early-bird offer for the next season; 150% of the previous salary. if you think that kind of stuff doesn't happen all the time, it seems naive. That's like going 3MPH over the speed limit
