Everywhere I read Erickson seems to be the worst move by any franchise in the NFL. Is he really that bad?

Erickson is an excellent college level coach. His creditentials from Miami, Oregon State and prior show this. He is, sorry to say, out of his league with the NFL. At Oregon State he often said the NFL stood for the No Fun League and that the coaching circles were so political that his own assistants would cut his throat for his job.

That said, go easy on him. He has wanted to prove he can win at the pro level and he could come around. The 49er fans are fickle these days and anxious to win. The cry-baby players are the main reasons for his problems. In college all he had to do was wear his championship rings and hand out scholarships. In the NFL he has no control and makes less money than the players...go figger

Absoluty a stupid move. Mariucci won the Divison with the same crybabies. Owner John York was "Penny wise and pound foolish" on this one. He could have had Mariucci for a fraction of the 5 year 25 million the the Lions paid him to come home to Michigan.

York went out and got a "cheap" coach that has NEVER made the NFL playoffs. This is a perfect example of "You get what you pay for" and the 49ers with be home for the holidays this year and as long as Dr. John York makes the football calls in San Fransisco.

I just hope he resigns Terrell Owens ... York and Owens deserve each other!
