Reading this recent olshey interview about the type of player they would bring in via trade this part stuck out:

"But I think it’s more about skill. I think it’s really more about guys that can shoot the ball, guys that are willing passers, they understand team basketball. I think defensively, they’re going to have to have a high IQ and be willing to play our system. But I think that’s really it. I think it’s somebody who is going to come in and understand that they’re a piece of what’s going on. They’re not the solution in a vacuum."

I looked around the league for possible available wing players that can somewhat score and pass, and only Turner stood out. He doesn't score like Kevin Martin but hes a decent enough shooter, likes to attack the basket and averages over 4 apg. His agent is david falk who's buddy buddy with Olshey and his contract is VERY reasonable ($3 million next year). Just wanted to get thoughts on going after him.

His basketball IQ is evident on his passes. He seems like he'd fit Stotts system better than some of the others discussed on here. He can handle the ball too. Would give us another ball handler off the bench, which we really could use.

Evan turner would be a good fit from a need perspective, however after the pacers fiasco last season people kind of backed off of him. Idk if it was him coming in/lance getting a bigger role or granger leaving that started the downwards spiral.

Yeah I have no idea what happened in Indy. I loved turner coming out of college though, I remember the Roy comparisons lol. I would love to see what he could do on a good structured team. His game fits Stotts philosophy better than Wilson Chandler, who I've been clamoring for.

I like the interview; Olshey says he is looking for an impact player; someone who will come in and the bench players will know without a doubt why he is playing ahead of them. I don't think that is Evan Turner. I'm not sure what impact player we could get for what we have to offer? The only impact player whom I have seen available is Brook Lopez but it sounds more like Olshey is looking for a wing. Who would that be? I wouldn't really rate Wilson Chandler as an impact player either.

affalo of Denver IMO is the "best target", however I don't know if he is really available and how much he would cost

What if were holding out crabbe because were waiting for kevin Martin to get healthy? Something about crabbe not getting minutes seems off.

Way off... and no one in the media is asking questions. It's bizarre.

Yah and olshey was pretty open in that interview about what they're looking for, almost like he's prepping the team/ fans for a move.

This guy comes to mind whenever I hear the argument from people that Batum sets up the offense and we need a guy like him. Turner can set up an offense too, and would be at least half the price of Batum.

I like Batum more when playing well obviously.

Turner ended up costing about 2/3 that of Batum.
