At the 9:30 mark- This mishap (1994) would have never occurred had: #1- a KC-135 Tanker of not been on t/runway when it should not have been, causing this B-52 to do an unexpected go around. #2- had to B-52 not of exceeded a 90-degree excessive turn. As a kid outside of Castle Air Force Base I witnessed one of these occurrences on October 9th 1969. Little did I know I'd spend a good part of my life 8 yrs later, working on and watching B1-B and B-2's performing very similar vertical banking maneuvers, ( without incidents), yet enough to make one hold on to their balls, or damn near shit ones pants ... Enough to give me nightmares literally for years. The horror and thrill of it all... 21 yrs after t/incident at Castle, I 1st met an elderly Vet (@work), who was assigned as 1 of 6 crew, to be aboard the fatal flight. A young CMSgt., he didn't hear his earlyyyy alarm & overslept. His carpool rider, buddy & Flt Crw member, knocked on t/door woke him up, BUT his ride could not wait, the 2 were already late. Ed got dressed; arrived at t/Flightline just in time 2 miss both rides & watch his B-52 crew mates lift off its runway b4 sunrise 4a 6hr flt/mission. Ending in a 1/4 mile overshoot plowing eplosive ball of fire.
I stood under one in the Air Force Museum in Dayton Ohio. It is massive. In your story, I feel for the airmen who died.
