Calm down there. I love the Draft too. Even without a pick, it's interesting. But this year, maybe more than ever before, look for Cash Considerations to be a big part of the 2nd round. Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.

I'm excited. We know that Dame has thrown down the gauntlet to improve his team right now, so I don't think having a pick would have made this more exciting. The fact is, deals get done on draft night, we're looking to make a deal. So let's see how it goes. Also, I get swept up in the non-Blazers stuff. The guys drafted and where they end up going is fun for the basketball geek in me. Any trade that doesn't hurt our chances of getting better also gets me geeked up. So let the games begin.

I don't think a draft day could ever be as bad as the one where we fired KP, but still let him make the picks, and he stuck us with Babbitt, Elliott Williams and Armon Johnson. Ugh.

And if Dame convinces the Blazers org to make a big move and one presents itself, we may not have control over a pick (at least in the first round) for the next six or seven years!

If the Blazers had not traded their pick to Houston, Houston wouldn't have drafted that future HOFer!

Olshey is the king of the second round anyway and it’s probably a safe bet he trades into it tonight.

Let's hope so. I'm not sure I can tolerate CJ Elleby being the entire culmination of back-to-back drafts...

That's exactly what I want to see happen. We've got to show Dame in no uncertain terms that we are all in on being the best we can be right now. The team has to basically say that it doesn't care if it hurts the post-Dame Blazers era if hurting that far into the future helps the Dame Blazers era. Otherwise it might be an end to the Dame Blazers era.

If the team wants to blow it up and start the post-Dame era now, it will hurt a little but at least us as fans and Dame will be off of this fucking treadmill of mediocrity. What I can't stand the idea of and it seems Dame can't either is more struggles to make the playoffs and first round exits with no chance at the title.

we only have 8 players under contract currently. That means Olshey is gonna have to add at least six players. Five if you think they’ll bring back Norm. Second rounders are cheaper than vets and don’t necessarily need playing time. So it’s a safe bet we’ll be adding someone today.

I just hope if we do get a second rounder we take a big/wing or a pure point. No more combo guards for the love of GODDDDD.

Wait you don't want a guy who is 6'4" or under and has a skill set that starts and stops at scoring the ball? Me neither.

I thought Chad Buchanan was responsible for that draft.

Hard to blame KP for the bad results in that draft as in retrospect there wasn't much talent in it. Passing on Avery Bradley for Babbitt is about the worst example I can see.

If we didn't have a pick for for a good reason, that would be more palatable. Instead, Collins and RoHo cost us 4 1st round draft picks and a player.

That that seems like a lot.

Collins isn't relative at all to this draft and not having a pick. Just seems like an unnecessary piling on of criticism.

We have a GM who doesn't appreciate that the draft is a cost effective way to add talent. We also had a coach who didn't put much effort into developing talent.
