He knows the Packers maxed out last season and that the chances of him giving another age-denying season to lead the Packers deep again are slim. We'll miss you, Brett.
Thank god! Football is losing a great QB today...I want to hear what John Madden has to say about this.
At least he made the announcement fairly quick and saved us from a summer of ridiculous media coverage. Great career Brett, even if you did become overhyped towards the end and eliminate your team in the playoffs with interceptions three times in a row.
Congrats & Best wishes Brett. Next Stop Canton 2012. Doesn't Favre's retirement eliminate 30% (minimum) of the things Madden discusses?

Great career Brett. I still remember watching him run around the field like a little kid after beating New England in Superbowl 31. He still was the same little kid at heart at age 40. Gotta respect this guy and the legacy he left on and off the field. Thanks Brett for the memories. Aaron Rodgers just creamed his pants somewhere.
I wish him the best, it was fun to see him play. He accomplished most of the passing records even the most interceptions.

as a long time Packer fan and Favre fan boy I was sad to see this on MSN's home page today....but with that being said, thanx for the memories Brett!!!!......I don't blame him, he's accomplished everything you can in football and he's healthy.......I know his wife was having a tough time with cancer, so more power to him........................once again thank you Mr. Favre!

Next to Hakeem, Brett Favre is my most favorite athlete growing up and of all time.........
