I haven't watched one minute of the playoffs since Portland was eliminated. I must confess, I didn't watch much before that because I knew we were going to get trampled and it's too painful to watch Draymond Green and co. mug and preen. Am I alone in this? Apparently viewership is down in general. Is it the dominance of Golden State? Or is it just me? With me I suspect I find it harder to care about the NBA when so much shittiness is happening to the country.
I agree with basically all of your sentiment, Golden State is really boring to watch, they ruin the game IMO. The Spurs and Houston series has been okay, but it's pretty obvious it is going to be Cleveland and GSW again in the finals, and I think Cleveland won't be able to pull our a miracle again like last year. I also agree with your last sentiment too, it's amazing 33% of people still love the fuck up in the White House.
In the same boat. Im sure I will tune in to a finals game or two, but for me its Blazers or bust. Ill let the Blazers distract me from my music and yard work, but not the rest of the NBA. Now you fuckers on the other hand... the ultimate crutch....
People tuned in to watch the Bulls cruise to their inevitable titles. People swear the golden age was when the Lakers and Celtics were busy dividing titles between themselves. I don't think dominance or inevitability hurts the league.
I've only watched it sitting on a bike at the gym. Sat down towards the end of the third in Toronto. Looked like a good game and then Korver hit some quick threes and I figured that was it. Sure enough the 4th was choke time. Pretty boring.
The NBA playoffs are hard to get excited about when your team isn't in it or the series of so damn predictable. Plus the NHL Playoffs are always the best and most pressure filled post season of any North American sport. It's a whole another ball game compared to the regular season. The NBA will have the visiabilty and individual matchups the press can debate until the cows come home. But until GS and Cleveland show up in the Finals, a lot of people really don't give a shit.
finding it hard to care about Bball now, good time for a break, refresh, and then gear up for the draft a couple weeks before, but for now very little posting and re-charge da batteries
Next thing going interest me is the combines and believe it next week when it starts and the players that we start to bring in for work outs.
I wish the NBA had parity. That's the biggest thing keeping it from rivaling the NFL. Baseball is a boring sport to watch but interesting to follow because you never know what will happen going into a season.
Yeah it's pretty fucking boring to watch to Warriors trounce everybody. I hope viewership is down. No one wants to watch the same shit every year, nba better recognize
There is little interest without drama and there is no drama this season. It has been the Warriors/Cavs in the Finals since the beginning of the season. Predictability has made it boring. Outside of watching the Blazers and hoping for internal development, I've never watched as little NBA basketball as has occurred this season. I had this discussion with a local media personality at the beginning of the season and we disagreed vehemently but the season rating are in and they were down dramatically. The Finals may be fun to watch but the rest of the season has been a large waste of time and very uninteresting.
I'd rather watch super teams shit on the entire league for a season than sit through a single baseball game.
