Hey friends, just curious when your first time was seeing the Blazers in person? Mine was back in the 04-05 season when they played at Charlotte. I remember getting the victory(Przybilla having a good game) and getting drunk in downtown Charlotte afterwards lol.

I don't feel like looking up the date, but my first live game was the debut of Portland Trailblazers legend Wesley Person.

I think his first game came against the Knicks? I could be wrong.

Don’t remember what game it was but it was back when we were the “jail blazers”. I remember going to a Celtics game back when they had Kenny Anderson and Antoine Walker.

Don't remember the date but it was the jailblazers era against the rockets. A friends dad worked at a pretty big car dealership and got tickets a few rows behind the bench.

Nov 3rd, 1970. Against Wilt, West, and Goodrich. I have hated the Lakers ever since.
However, standing next to Wilt as he came out of the locker room is something I will never forget. (That and only paying $2.50 for my ticket)

$2.50 won’t even buy you most energy drinks today :smiley-bigsadeyes:

That’s like 1/3-1/4 the price of a beer at the arena now.

Not even a gallon of Gas

1/8 of the cost of parking in the garage at the games

Don't remember going to any games as a child. I went to a TOOOON of winterhawks games. So worth it. Got all the cups for the blazers from Dairy Queen though!

My first game I went to was one of 82 from Greg Oden against the nuggets. He missed 2 free throws at the end of the game and we lost by 1. Good fucking times.

There was one benefit of a half-full area in those early days, once you got in for a couple of dollars, you could sit in the lower bowl after halftime, and because the security was not like it is now, young fans like myself could wait by the locker room doors as the stars came on to the floor, and watch them warm up courtside. I have great memories of those days.

    True.

Even in the 90’s it was easier to do things like that. Haven’t even tried to sit courtside pregame. Probably can’t anymore. I think their entry has changed too. Fans let in closer to tip off than years back.

2.5 in 1970 is about 20 bucks today.

Early 70's but I'm not sure exactly when. They weren't relevant until Walton showed up.

Early 90s. It was actually in LA. We were on a trip to Disneyland and watched the Blazers at the Sports Arena.

Got to meet some players after the game.

I went to 5-6 games that first year (I was 16 years old and a junior in HS) and yes, it was a reasonably cheap date. I don't remember the first opposing team I saw but I assume it was the Chicago Bulls, as I saw them at least twice that season. And there was seldom if ever more than six or seven thousand fans in the stands. On a good night you could even find a parking spot directly in front of the Coliseum. And while I never saw the Lakers play that year, one morning I was taking my folks to the airport for an early flight to Acapulco. The first leg was to LA and the Lakers were on their flight (they had played the Lakers the night before). I was thrilled to get the autographs of Wilt, Jerry West, Gail Goodrich, Jim McMillian (future Blazer) and John Q. Trapp (who simply signed with a big "Q"). The sheet of paper with those autographs were my prized possession until my mom cleaned out my dresser when I went into the navy. And Wilt was the biggest human being I had ever met in my life.....
