Quite a career for a guy many incorrectly doubted. 1st player in NBA history to win the award 3 times.
He wasn't worth a $6M/year contract so Pax traded him. Traded by the Chicago Bulls with Jerome Williams to the New York Knicks for Othella Harrington, Dikembe Mutombo, Cezary Trybanski and Frank Williams. Pretty slick how your leading scorer gets you that kind of haul. Looks like a load of junk to me, especially since Mutombo wanted no part of the organization.
Crawford fills a tough role and one that no highly-talented player volunteers for. In Crawford's case, it's taken many years for him to accept this role, but now that he has, nobody does it better. Kudos to him.
I understand that it's open season on the Bulls' front office, but Tyson Chandler played the 2005-06 season like he wanted to be traded. The hell of it is that the 2005-06 Bulls were perfect for a defensive center who wasn't going to give you much on offense...in other words, it was perfect for a Tyson Chandler-type center. Still, an immature Chandler played most of the season with his head up his ass. This despite the fact, or maybe because of the fact, that the Bulls had just made him a wealthy man, signing him to a 6-year $63mil contract. Chandler's had a very good NBA career, and like J.Crawford, is to be congratulated.
Chandler had a problem with his throat that season. He didn't play like he wanted to be traded, or do I think he wanted to be traded.
Terrible move by Paxson dropping Chandler for basically nothing. One of many. The franchise has accomplished basically nothing in his decade and a half in heading it up. Awful.
Well, if you think GarPax need to go, I think their replacement should have made the choice to keep or fire Thibs. Or The Chairman should have given the job to Thibs as Minny did (president and coach).
That's all I meant when I said they were good picks. It didn't work out in Chicago, but they did justify Krauses having drafted them.
