Forward Hunter Bishop Returns to Stingrays

    The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 20 seasons of hockey in the Lowcountry and proud ECHL affiliate of the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL), announced today that forward Hunter Bishop has returned to the team from the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League (AHL).

    Bishop, 25, appeared in three games with the Monsters earning no points. The Fairbanks, Alaska native is second on the Stingrays with 31 points (15 goals, 16 assists) in 35 games. Missing last season due to injury, Bishop competed in 34 AHL contests with the Hamilton Bulldogs in 2010-11 grabbing four goals and four assists for eight points. Prior to turning pro, Bishop attended Ohio State University for two seasons (2008-10) and skated in four games with the University of North Dakota in 2006-07 totaling 59 points (29 goals, 30 assists) in 79 games.

    The Stingrays continue a seven-game homestand tonight, Friday, January 18 at 7:05 p.m. against the Greenville Road Warriors on Hockey Heroes for Epilepsy Night.
