Welcome to cancel culture, Lou Dobbs.

On Friday, The Los Angeles Times reported that Lou Dobbs Tonight on Fox Business Network was being taken off the air. Trump’s former economic advisor Larry Kudlow is reportedly being considered as a permanent replacement.

According to a statement given to multiple outlets, the change in programming has nothing to do with a $2.7 billion defamation lawsuit filed by the election technology company Smartmatic against Dobbs and other Fox hosts. "As we said in October, FOX News Media regularly considers programming changes and plans have been in place to launch new formats as appropriate post-election, including on FOX Business,” said a spokesperson for Fox. “This is part of those planned changes.” But media analysts and experts are skeptical of that explanation. In a conversation with The New York Times, a person familiar with the matter said that while conversations about Dobbs’ future began before the lawsuit was announced, the anchor’s relentless support of Trump’s false election claims aggravated an already tense situation.
