As I stated when this series started. Not too optimistic. However, still hopeful. Vali said the Islanders were hard on Crosby's wingers and took them away which was the key. The Rangers did not do that at all in game 1.
I'll put this very directly and plainly - if the Rangers can't win at home tonight, in a virtual must win, against a 3rd string goalie, they are not the team I thought they were. It is really that simple. This is a game they should roll - just like the Wild and Oilers did after losing game 1 at home. Nothing else really needs to be said IMO.
That is not good. Lindgren is the bigger loss because he plays D, but Goodrow is a big loss as well. I didn't even know he was hurt. No excuses though as the Pens are on their 3rd string goalie, and missing players also. Who pairs with Fox? Please do not say Nemeth. Miller and Trouba need to be great tonight and shadow the Crosby line. Hopefully since he was close tonight Lindgren misses only 1 game. Who knows the scoop on Goodrow.
Goodrow wins two Stanley cups with Tampa. Never misses any playoff games. Signs with the Rangers, gets hurt in his first game in the playoffs. Unreal
