The Charlotte Hornets defeated the Miami Heat, 94-90, in the Las Vegas Summer League at Cox Pavilion on Sunday. In a tightly fought game that saw 15 ties and 12 lead changes, the Hornets went on a 20-11 run over the last 5:17 to erase a five-point deficit at 79-74. Rashad Vaughn's 3-pointer with 40 seconds remaining brought the Heat to within one, 88-87, but the Hornets went 6-of-6 from the foul line down the stretch to ice it.
