Garnett lit it up the other night against Washington, dominating both sides of the ball and just creating headaches for the Wiz. Toronto can't really expect Bosh to match KG point for point (he is still a bit rusty after all), they need him to force the "Big Ticket" to work for everything he gets. And on the other side, Boston could run away with it if KG dominates the boards and plays strong post D on Bosh/Bargnani.

Prediction

It only gets more difficult for the Raptors. They opened the season against a cupcake (Philadelphia) and were able to blowout a more evenly matched team in the Nets. Now they'll have to prove to the league that they can hang with a team that's been unanimously proclaimed as the most likely to win the division. Believe it or not, I like the Raptors chances in this game. They certainly don't have the star power to match Boston's "Big 3" (God, I'm tired of that phrase), but it cannot be stated enough how dangerous our bench is. And, on top of that, there are some interesting mismatches to exploit on the offensive end (Bargnani vs. Perkins, anyone?).

Toronto wins 107 - 102

(and making its trimphant return!...) Something to look at while you wait for the game....

lol, I never understood why that was there. He must've gone Super Saiyan when they were taking that picture or something.

Cant wait to watch this game, couldnt watch the first two due to work so Boston @ Toronto is pretty much MY season opener. I really want the Raptors to win but I think we will lose to Boston just because they are really an unknown opponent and of course if the big 3 go off on us its a rap. Anyways will be rooting for the Raptors and think we have a 45% chance of winning so it'll be close.

I just want to clarify this once and for all. This is the only real "Big 3" in the NBA right now. I don't see Pierce-Garnett-Allen breathing fire or anything.

This game will be the first time the Raptors game will be broadcast by CBC nationwide, kindof curious to see how they present the game. Who is your X-Factor for tomorrow's game? My choice is Anthony Parker, I think he'll really step up defensively guarding Pierce or Allen and will tire them out by making them work on defense.

Nice game thread.

The honeymoon is in full swing with The GAP and Boston.
I'm not exactly sure how to counter this team. I suppose you try and stay close with your starting unit then try and have your reserves run wild on theirs. The issue is that GAP all played close to 40 minutes in the first game.
You can attack Allen and Perkins when they are back on defense, I guess. Try to get Perk or KG in foul trouble so they are forced to bring in Veal, Big Baby, or Scot Pollard, all of whom we should be able to wreck.
Should be interesting to watch.

I think we should see how Bosh and Garnett go at each other and see how it works out. My X factor is Bargnani for sure. I mean, Perkins will have to come out and play outside, and Il Mago will burn him every time. Then Kg comes over to help, Bosh is open inside or we kick it out to Kapono or Parker.
On defense, just put Parker on Pierce and Kapono on Allen. Bosh on Garnett, with help from Bargnani and I think we are set. Should be a great game, can't wait.

To shut down Allen were gonna have to be quick on defense when switching defenders, Allen likes to move around alot without the ball and come off screens to get the open shot so being quick on defense and being able to realize that should slow him down a little. I also wouldnt mind a couple hard fouls here and there on whoever tries to penetrate the lane, like whenever Peirce goes in the paint give him a hard foul maybe try limiting their PIP and make then just shoot jumpers.

Get ready to have your first loss. lol
In other news the PGA Tour continues today in Toronto....

Raptors fans, I was full of confidence that the Wizards would take down the Celtics or at least put up a fight. This Boston team is dynamic and very very hard to stop. Good luck to you guys but I can't see thet possibility of the Raptors winning this game.

QUOTE (LT7)

Raptors on CBC!!
Very nice intro. Very nice.

Too bad CBC thought it was necessary to cut the raptors in my region so they could cover figure skating. BS!

Edit: Is this going to be one of those games where i scream at TJ Ford for over dribbling the ball ?

So far were not getting good ball movement and really not playing our type of game, our offence looks stale. TJ Ford is the only one aliveon the court so far!

Nice 10-0 run the Raptors have strung together with Delfino and Calderon on the floor also with great defense by CB4 on KG.

Listing to Tommy H. I just want to shoot myself. Now I know what it’s like being a non-raptors fan and listen to the Swirsk.
ps. I still hate Sam Mitchell. We have the same stupid problems we have last year. Bad performance out of breaks and timeouts, needless doubling in the post, inability to slow momentum when the other team goes on a run.
