Nets, Heat bring struggling offenses to IZOD Center

Miami (1-8) at New Jersey (4-5) 7:30 pm EST

EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) -- While the return of
Dwyane Wade has yet result in a win for the Miami Heat, he hascertainly displayed some much-needed punch to the offense.

Wade and the Heat travel to the IZOD Center on Saturday to meetthe New Jersey Nets.

Miami is averaging an NBA-low 85.4 points and is mired in athree-game losing streak.

A three-time All-Star selection, Wade missed the start of theseason following knee and shoulder surgery, but returnedWednesday against Seattle and scored 15 points in 24 minutes ofthe 104-95 loss.

On Friday, he scored 23 points in 38 minutes in his first startbut the Heat fell 92-91 to the undefeated Boston Celtics. Wademissed a potential game-winning shot in the final seconds.

Miami's offensive struggles without Wade pale in comparison tothat of the Nets rec who have dropped four straight and scoredjust 69 and 70 points, respectively, in their last two lossesagainst Boston and Orlando. New Jersey has been without forwardVince Carter, who has missed the last three games with asprained ankle.

On Friday, Jason Kidd collected 11 points, 10 assists and acareer-high 19 rebounds as the Nets dropped a 95-70 decisionto Orlando. It was Kidd's 89th career triple-double.

im going to be at this game. hopefully wade and shaq can pick it up and gather a win for us. im very happy with ricky's play so far this season, hes definitely pulling his share. j-will and u-don are also looking pretty good. some keys for us to win: shaq has to get more aggressive, demand the ball more, and FINISH; dwyane has to play like his old self; u-don has to own the boards; jwill and ricky continue what their doing; and play daqeuan cook more, hes being very productive in limited time, i think hes going to have a very solid career.

I think the greatest thing that could happen to this Nets team is they win the game in a way that invalidates every single post I've made in the past 24 hours.

Ok, this has to be THE GAME where Sean Williams gets his first NBA start for the Nets.. God, I hope Sean blocks Wades shots through the floor boards. And this is the type of game Collins and Magloire can show their true worth against Shaq and Zo. Nets need to pick up the pace of the game and not get stuck in a half court game or they're toast.

I think Collins can do a good job against the ageing but still dominating Shaq. Whoever's on Wade has to step it up. I'm ready, I'm optimisitic but not fully. just gonna get a quick bite to eat and head to the arena, have fun here tonight and look forward to reading the board when I get home!

Respect for Michelle Beadle: pressing Frank on how he's going to address the problems rather than just ask him what they are.

edit: hoooooooly jesus Sean and Magloire are starting!

Yahhh! Sean starts! Me like. Me like. Magloire starting? Meh. Against Shaq maybe this one game Collins should be starting but we'll see if this gets Magloire going. And I saw Collins take a jumper in the pre game warmups and hit NOTHING BUT NET. WTF? Hahaha.
