PITTSBURGH (Ticker) - After being considered one of thefavorites in the Eastern Conference, the Pittsburgh Penguinshave spent the majority of the first two months of the season inthe cellar of the Atlantic Division.


The Penguins hope to capitalize on their five-day break and wintheir third straight game when they host the Dallas Stars onFriday.


Pittsburgh is coming off its best outing of the season,trouncing the Atlanta Thrashers, 5-0, on Saturday. Marc-AndreFleury made 28 saves to register his second shutout of theseason and ninth career in that contest.


Fleury is 6-8-1 with a 3.23 goals-against average and .898 savepercentage this season.


Reigning Hart Trophy recipient, Sidney Crosby leads the Penguinswith 12 goals and 33 points and has tallied at least one pointin 21 of the club's 23 games.


The Stars were on a roll before running into Martin Brodeur andthe New Jersey Devils on Wednesday. Despite holding a two-goaladvantage after the first period, Dallas suffered a 4-2 loss tothe Devils, ending a six-game winning streak.


Niklas Hagman has a team-leading 10 goals with four assists thisseason for Dallas.
