BOSTON (Ticker) -- Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and the BostonCeltics aim to stay unbeaten when they host the New Jersey Netson Wednesday.

Pierce scored 31 points and Garnett posted his sixth straightdouble-double as he scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds ina 101-86 win over the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday.

The Celtics faced their toughest challenge of the season againstthe Nets on Saturday, but had no problems.

Boston's "Big Three" of Pierce, Garnett and Ray Allen combinedfor 73 points as the Celtics cruised to a 112-101 win at NewJersey. Garnett scored 18 points and pulled down 14 rebounds inthe first meeting, while Pierce scored 28 and Allen added 27.

Meanwhile, New Jersey's Richard Jefferson scored 28 points inthe first meeting, and is averaging 26.9 points and 5.6 assists.

However, the Nets lost more than a game on Saturday as VinceCarter suffered a sprained ankle and is out indefinitely.Carter, who is averaging 17.0 points and 5.5 rebounds and 4.5assists, suffered the injury in the third quarter when he landedon someone's foot after a dunk.

The shorthanded Nets will be facing an uphill battle against aCeltics team that has started out 6-0 for the first time since1987-88, is winning by an average of more than 16 points.

Jefferson scored 32 points on Monday, but New Jersey dropped itssecond straight, 84-82, to New Orleans.

On the bright side, the Nets have won three in a row here.

    Celtics should win big.

Antoine Wright is going to have to take his game to a whole 'nutha level. Sean Williams has to come in and change the game for the Nets to have a chance.

I'm thinking win, lose, or draw, Kidd has a great game. He never fails to step up in this situations.

Re: NBA: NEW JERSEY (4-3) at BOSTON (6-0)

I'm very excited to watch this game, even though I expect the Nets to lose. We'll get to see the Nets' combination of Kidd-Wright-Jefferson-Collins--the best defensive combination--put to the test. Wright and RJ on Allen and Pierce in some order will be worth focusing on. If the nets are going to go far this season, it will be because of their defense, and by these guys in particular. They did well against New Orleans. Hopefully their perimeter defense will be better than the last game.

Nachbar and Krstic have to step up offensively. I am wondering whether Glen Davis will play as much now that Veal is back. The Nets will match up much better against Veal, IMO.

Another question is whether Krstic will start. Apparently Coach Frank has consideredbringing Krstic off the bench, and if you're going to do it, it would probably be against a team like Boston.

Should be a nice lil loss. We needed that game against the Hornets. Hah, if Frank thinks the "moment" was too much for Sean in front of the anemic Nets' crowd of 12,000 I can't imagine how he thinks he'll handle Boston.

Yeah and Armstrong, we will do that at the end of the game, or when under 20.

This should be a good one, Vince Carter or not. By no means am I expecting a blowout or a lopsided game, but I think we should be able to win. Our crowd really gets loud and we play very well at home. I expect hard-fought game decided by 8-12 points, but another Celtic victory.

Come on, green - make it 7-0!

The Nets will be without leading scorer and main offensive weapon in Vince Carter, so comparison of any big threes will have to be put on the back burner. However this allows for other people to step up into the spotlight: Antoine Wright and Sean Williams. Antoine’s offense has finally emerged this season, and his defensive presence was a big part of that 4th quarter run the last time these two played. Another player that should garner attention is Sean (insert nickname here) Williams. He’s managed to get national attention with his play, and had success going against Kevin Garnett last game. Nets fans will be curious if their rookie can perform at the same level against a fresh KG, and not just the 4th quarter version. font>

This should indeed be a good one, Celtics have a great advantage since they're home of course. Hopefully Perkins and Davis step their game up a little more and use their ability to defend on the upcoming players.

Yeah, I pretty much have to agree with you there.

They have bashed every team that has come in their way, winning at home, beating teams at their home, and winning at every single game is just amazing.

Wright needs to grow some balls and contribute when the pressure is on him. Boki needs to stop sucking.

Frank needs to grow balls and play Sean AS SOON AS NEEDED. And he needs to monitor Krstic's and Kidd's minutes.

And Allen needs to not step onto the court, not once.

And if Magloire doesn't play, I'll be pissed.

Oh, and one more thing: if Sean Williams starts, I will jizz in my pants.

EDIT: I'm not wearing any pants, so that'll be a crazy mess.
