Keys to the Game

San Antonio:

[*]Stop Garnett (Duncan won't have an easy job tonight)
[*]Stop the outside attack (The Wolves are an excellent perimeter team. They have threats in Cassell, Sprewell, Szczerbiak, Hoiberg, Hudson, and Garnett)
[*]Don't let the new comers get hot (Stopping Wally, Troy, and Olowokandi is a must)
[*]Get Duncan involved early (Get Duncan hot early in the game will set the tone for the Spurs)
[*]Limit second chance points (With Olowokandi back, Garnett being his usual self, and Madsen grabbing some nice rebounds off the bench, the Spurs need to box out at all times)
Minnesota Timberwolves:

[*]Stop Duncan (Make it difficult for him to score. Double team him if needed.)
[*]Make open jumpers (If they run the zone, this will be a must)
[*]Make Rasho shoot from outside (As all Timberwolves fans know, Rasho isn't the greatest perimeter shooter)
[*]Rebound (Getting rebounds is always good)
[*]Let Sam do his thing (He will want revenge for missing those key free throws last night, so the Spurs better be ready)
twolvefan11's Prediction
Timberwolves are still fueled from the game last night. Should be a great game vs. our division rivals. Olowokandi should be getting more minutes tonight and Wally is getting in the groove. With everyone back and healthy, we are very hard to stop. So I don't see the Spurs stopping us in this game. Should be a close one all the way through.

I think its going to be really close.
The biggest threat would be Duncan. If we can stop him,the wolves should have no problem winning. It's gonna be a good game.
The wolves by 5.

Another close game for the Wolves to win. This ca go either way. But I think the Wolves will start to pull away in the 4th giving them a 4point win. Wolves by 4.

I think the Wolves will prove too much for the Spurs to handle.

Like I said in the other thread--

Oooooooooh, I don't know who I want to win. If the Wolves beat the Spurs, that means the Lakers move ahead of the Spurs. However, if the Spurs beat the Wolves, that means the Wolves lose some momentum......too hard to pick.

But since the Wolves are on a roll and have the home court, they win by 3.

Man, I keep messing up. Or it's because I don't really think people read these because they just like looking at the pretty pictures.

Even if the Spurs lose, they're still ahead of the Lakers. Their win percentage would be .643, .001 higher than the Lakers. Haha.

This will be a tough game, and the TWolves will be out to take another win against the Spurs. The KG vs. TD match-up is highly anticipated for all the MVP debates. The Spurs are coming off a loss to the Cavs, while the TWolves keep getting better and healthier. KG is playing great basketball and is doing EVERYTHING for his team once again this season. Both teams play great defense, so this game will come down to which offense can execute better. I think the TWolves have the better players on offense and should be able to take the league and hold on to it. The Kandi vs. Nesterovic sub plot will also be interesting to watch.

It would be funny to see Bowen and Hassell "defend" eachother. The ball would not be sent to them.

They will not defend each other, you really think Pop will make his best perimeter defender guard a guy who doesn't score? Bowen will likely be on Sprewell

This should be a good match-up, both teams are playing good basketball (Spurs loss last night was their first in 7 games) So something has got to give.

Now this is gonna be a close game.
Too bad I won't be able to watch it, it's not gonna be on National TV [IMG] (but it should be, this is a good matchup)

Well, I'm not a Spurs fan. If they lose this one, they'll have the same number of losses as the Lakers in the standings [IMG]

T-Wolves all the way, win by five points.

This is a great matchup. Doesn't Ginobili start? I say Timberwolves by 7.

T'Wolves have the superior bench & starters. TD will have a strong game simply because he's a great player. The Spurs don't have the supporting cast that they did last year.

T'Wolves depth, firepower & roleplayers will make the difference. T'Wolves 101-89. Score won't be indicative of how tight a game it was but T'Wolves depth will wear the Spurs down & show up in the final score.

I don't look for Kandi to play much today, maybe 7-10 minutes. Wally & THud will keep getting more minutes. The big bench contributions will come from Mad Dog & Wally, IMHO.
