Here's a guy who was the consensus #2 lightweight in the world when he was fighting outside the UFC. They bring him into the fray and he loses a tight decision to Ben Henderson, goes the distance with an aging and addled Diego Sanchez, and then loses twice more to Anthony Pettis (by submission) and Eddie Alvarez (by gassing out). He's signed on to face Al Iaquinta next month as a late replacement for Bobby Green to try and regain some momentum. TBQH I didn't see this guy going 1-3 in the UFC when he signed up. He's only 33--you'd think he has a few more years before he starts showing signs of wear, right? What are your expectations for Melendez going forward?
