Gleyber Torres SS New York Yankees (AAA)
Torres was removed from Saturday's Triple-A contest in the third inning after apparently injuring himself while sliding home, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.
    Fantasy Analysis

This could be an extremely tough blow for the Yankees' top prospects, who was just starting to turn it on since earning a promotion to Triple-A. Torres looked to be in some serious pain after appearing to injure his arm or shoulder while sliding headfirst into home. The severity of his injury isn't known at this point, but more should be known once he is further evaluated in the coming days.

God fucking Damn It!!!! Time to start fining these guys with these headfirst slides. Too many friggin injuries happen with them

...^^^ hope the kid is OK but yeah, you're right about head first slides...there really does not seem to be an advantage to doing it as ooposed to sliding feet first.

Gleyber Torres, Yankees’ top prospect, placed on disabled list

My daughter's a physical therapist and says if no tears upon further evaluation 4 to 6 weeks and probably by the time heals, rehabs and back in baseball form a september call up. If any tears show up done till next season or worse if god damn ucl is torn. Just shit luck!!

...I also recall Gardner going to the DL because of head first sliding and Jeter missing nearly 1/2 the season one year because of the same thing.

Just saw that Marchand article, bad break for the kid, every one his high on his abilities. Cashman now has two choices, retain Headley or get a 3rd base "rental" if they think it will help a possible playoff spot. Amore important priority is to get rid of Carter, every time that guy comes up is a zero at bat.
