My choice: “Michael Zarren started as an intern and in his 14 years with the Boston Celtics, he has moved up the ranks to assistant general manager. Zarren, 44, has a law degree from Harvard and also serves as the team legal counsel. His specialty is statistical analytics and strategic planning. He’s a lifelong Celtics fan and has passed on previous overtures from other teams, but with his experience and background, it’s worth making the call.” https://www.sloansportsconference.com/people/mike-zarren What say you?
Rumor had it that Charles Barkley wanted the GM job before Neil was hired. Wonder if he'd still be interested?
Sam Hinkie although he has recently said there is "zero chance" he returns to the NBA. So how about Trajan Langdon?
Love Charles but he would be a disaster. The only guy wrong more often than Olshey has been Barkley (with all of his predictions about the Blazers).
Barkley could probably win in a fight versus any other GM do I say hire him. What are the other GMs gonna do about it when it comes to trades?
Hey man I told ya a loooong time ago this isn’t working. But what can i do now everybody says I was right
Actually I like this one. He is one of those guys that just strike you as a person that know what he is doing. It’s a bonus really that he has been working with the Heat organization
I think the obvious thing to do is to raid successful front offices, particularly small-market ones. So - Utah? Memphis? OKC? I feel like our old pal James Jones has done an amazing job in Phoenix, while simultaneously being roundly mocked (the press were BRUTAL when he drafted Cam Johnson), but I worry it might be a Joe Dumars one-off.
