Okay, these clowns have been in the media as of recent. I have had only the passing interest to this point until a friend showed me this today.

So, is it me or is this going too far?

Google alters its algorithms and search results. Its not neutral anymore.

Yep. People who use google will be convinced that white people are black.

It's the end of the world as we know it.

I'm not gonna search these and I know Google has alterior motives for a ton of stuff BUT I had this argument with Dviss that some examples can't be proof. He said something about black women being naked in search results or something like that.

I told him to google Nebraska coeds. Try that one instead.

    Thats funny..

A bunch of years ago I was a manager at a big GM store. When we had a new guy, their was a bit of hazing as you can imagine.

One was to convince them after a sale, that they could call 1-800-GM Truck to receive their bonus spin..

A few years ago, there was interesting debate about whether Walmart was so big that it could effectively censor by refusing to carry a book or a magazine.

Those days are over, thanks to the Internet.

Now we have to ask similar questions about Google. If they choose to rank you low or someone else high, they're controlling the discourse.

If all this is pure algorithm, their algorithms are clearly broken.

The algorithms prioritize things people actually click to build relevancy scores. If most people associate white couples with biracial couples, the market has spoken. People have voted with their clicks: white now means biracial. We shouldn't ask a big corporation or the government to interfere in the choices the market makes.

Why you ask? Because people OFTEN describe black people as African American.

Google picks up the word American in that description.

How often does a white couple picture get tagged with Happy White American Couple?

I'm sure the SJWs at Google don't mind this stuff and might even actively push it but come on. This is what I tried to explain to Dviss about some bad pics of black women coming up because of some racist named porn sites.

You might want to read about how their algorithms actually do work.

Nothing to do with what people click on.

Google uses things like what's in the page title, how many times the key words appear on the page, the quality of links from sites to the page in question, etc. They only look at YOUR history to determine when you type in "Barcelona" that you mean the football team (because your history says you're interested in that).

Google doesn't go into all the factors for "Ranking useful pages" in that (they even say that there are many factors they use for that and then give two examples and a generality). They've mentioned before that one factor in determining how useful a link is is how often people actually use the link, filtering out things that are low quality and not actually of interest to many people.

Their algorithms are secret, but they are clear that they only look at your history. People do reverse engineer what they do and artificially obtain higher ranking.

They do rank based upon citations, or links to the page, as I said. That would be a factor of popularity.

Another is if there's a link on SportsTwo (for example) to the page. SportsTwo is considered a high quality link because of the age of the domain registration and traffic and other things. This is why spammers try to get a link on the site, even if it's in their BIO (and I delete them all).

I believe Google's algorithms nowadays are heavily AI influenced - they combine tons of data that is both "crowd sourced" and relevant to the individual doing the search, I would suspect that it is very hard to reverse engineer them at this point - since there are probably multiple levels of neural networks at work to give you the results you get.
