So I will start by saying that at times CJ drives me nuts and I'm not opposed to trading him for the right player but that's not what this thread is about and I hope it stays out of it.

My question is whether you think if CJ is one of, if not the best non all-star ever?

There are a few articles out there and the common players mentioned are Cedric Maxwell, Lamar Odom, Marcus Camby and Rod Strickland.

Since becoming a starter 6 years ago he has averaged over 20 points per game. Something I don't think any of those other players did consistently and for that length of time. The argument against that is likely that some of those players are a lot more well rounded.

I'd be curious to hear your thoughts or stats that show your arguments.

Monta Ellis is on the list too, I think.

I think Andrew Bogut has a decent argument. He was a beast through his prime. Made an All-NBA team, I think, but not an All Star team.

Andre Miller has been brought up in a lot of these discussions too. I loved his game and watching him play.

Vladimir Stepania too. JK, but yeah CJ definitely has a case. Jamal Magloire was an all star for crying out loud.

Mike from Utah has been the best in recent years, imo. Good thing there was an injury this year or it would another year w/o.

I would easily pick either Andre Miller or Rod Strickland over CJ.

Both had a much better well rounded game.

If we're talking about people that had the numbers to get there but didn't, it's really close with a bunch of these guys and others.

An easy answer is who the best basketball player that I've ever seen play for a sustained period of time and didn't make the all star game. Lamar Odom. That dude was sick. If it weren't for the Shaq trade he would have been an all star that next season in Miami. Phil crushed his career by putting him on the bench when he was the second best player on the Lakers. I don't think he was the biggest career snub ever. Like I said that's a long list that's hard to sort out but he was just the best player to not make it there.

When I lived in The ATL, I always appreciated Jason Terry's game. Seattle kid.
