Thread title is misleading... Ginobili is out with a broken hand. W's lost something like 22 in a row in SA. What to watch for: - Can Malone/MJ devise a scheme to slow down the Spurs? - Who gets backup PG minutes? - Will the offense look decent with Curry/Monta/Lee playing together?
Biedrins was injured at some point and went to the locker room. For those keeping track of MJ's lineups, he subbed Udoh and McGuire in against Thiago Splitter and Matt Bonner. Matching the Spurs instead of making the Spurs match us. Charles Jenkins in at backup PG, didn't do much. Monta and Curry playing well early, Lee looks like sh*t, Beans was actually doing quite well. Dorell Wright was 0-1 but the coaches ran a play for him the first possession of the game and hes getting into the paint a bit more- had a nice assist to Curry for a 3 off a drive and dish.
Klay with a beautiful 18 footer off a curl to open the 2nd Q. Ran another play for him the next possession but he missed the mid-range J. Then gets mixed up on a defensive switch and commits a bad foul. Hes got a few rebounds though. Udoh and Lee the 5/4 right now.
Curry and Monta with probably the best half I've ever seen of them combined. Both searing hot and unstoppable. Kwame got a dunk out of the post on Duncan. Everyone in the stadium and watching at home is in disbelief lol.
Kwame has been doing some good work. Without the stigma of him being the #1 overall pick in 2001 he's a pretty decent role player for us.
Continuation of rants from prior years, Monta has such a "superstar" frame of mind that he KILLS the Warriors on the defensive end. Follow Monta after a missed shot, he's jogging back (to be kind) and does not even try to find his man. This led to at least 4 easy buckets for the Spurs in one 5 min. stretch. I hate that. Total lack of effort and I do not know how the others can stomach this. I don't care that he had 35. Going all out on offense and nothing on D is a recipe for losing, nothing else.
