I guarantee that the first 10 picks of the 2004 draft will go like this: 1) San Diego: Eli Manning 2) Oakland: Mike Williams 3) Arizona: Larry Fitzgerald 4) NYGiants: Robert Gallery 5) Washington: Sean Taylor 6) Detroit: Kellen Winslow Jr 7) Cleveland: Ben Roelisberger 8) Atlanta: Tommie Harris 9) Jacksonville: Roy Williams 10) Houston: DeAngelo Hall
uhhh, how can you do that???? mike williams has not even worked out yet and since the NFL appeal is before the draft he may lose his elegibility
this is from CBSportsline: The consensus at this week's owners meetings was that USC receiver Mike Williams is falling like a rock off a roof. Will he fall out of the first round? No. But don't expect to see him in the top 10, either. Williams will work out for scouts April 8, but that is too late for a lot of teams, many of whom who have already started stacking their draft board. In addition, Williams recently weighed 245 pounds and the talk is he won't run better than a 4.7. Even if he does better that, there are some off-the-field concerns. Williams has been getting so-so reviews from the USC staff regarding his off-field behavior. It seems the USC team as a whole missed 13 workouts last year, and Williams missed more than eight of them, On one occasion, according to a league source, he told coach Pete Carroll that he had to do some homework and then Carroll saw him playing basketball in the gym. Williams also is said to have trouble catching passes on the right side of the formation, since he is left-handed. He excels catching balls on the left side, but the right side proved troubling, according to the one team official. Williams and Maurice Clarett are both awaiting the outcome of the NFL's appeal to the court ruling they could be eligible for this draft. If that is overturned, then they may be in football purgatory since they both have signed with an agent. Next stop? Oh, Canada. Don't be shocked to see Williams fall to late in the first round.
I read somewhere today that the Chargers may trade down twice. First with the Gmen (who would take Rothliesberger @ #1) and again w/ Cleveland (who would take Gallery #4). SD would then take Rivers with the 7th pick It appears that M. Williams may go in a supplemental draft regardless of the judges ruling. Roy Williams (U Texas) may best the best of all the WR's named Williams coming out? Reggie from the Univ of Washington could be a sleeper. The only locks IMO are; the Redskins taking Tommie Harris (DT from Oklahoma) @ #5. Right after that, 'Soldier boy' Winslow will be motoring to the home of the Red Wings.
Oh it's getting exciting! I can't wait to see what SD does. I think they'll trade down. Hell, I've been saying that since January. They could trade that top pick for several picks. We all know they need more than Manning to help their team become a winner again. I think WHEN they trade down everything will change.
If San Diego wanted to play the field, they could trade down a few times and stockpile players, consider this scenario: Trade the #1 to the Giants for thier 1st, 2nd, and a 5th. Giants want Eli, they will likely make the trade Trade Giants #1 to Cleveland for thier 1st and 2nd Cleveland wants Gallery Trade Clevelands 1st and the Giants 5 to the Patriots for 2 #1s, a 2nd NE wants to come up for Taylor or one of the WR's in the end, the Chargers pick 21st, 32nd, 34th, 35th, 38th, and 56th, thats a major talent infusion into a roster that needs it
As long as we are playing what if, Lets say the Chargers send the #1, Tim Dwight & a 2nd rounder next year to New England for the #21 pick and both of the Pats second rounders this year. With that NE swaps with Cleveland & gets a 3rd round pick this year. The Browns take Gallery & New england gets another weapon for Tom Brady - Roy Williams. Meanwhile, the Rams acquire Ogunleye from Miami for the #26 pick and a 4th rounder next year. Miami then drafts Shawn Andrews & Vernon Carey to open holes for Ricky next year. The phins new OL from LT to RT is; W. Smith, J. James, S McKinney, V Carey, & S Andrews.
Why would San Diego make that trade?? The going rate to move up from 4 to 1 is an extra 1st or 2nd, those 2 teams might trade, but the compensation package going to the Chargers will be much bigger....
chargers said no one has offerered them anything worth moving down for according to what i heard form ESPN radio
Out of detroit. The detroit lions are gonna trade down from there spot. Matt millen and williams clay ford sr have said that there is no one really who they want at 6. Kellen winslow is not gonna be a lion, both millen and ownership said they are Not gonna pay top dollar for a te when there team was 31st ranked rushing team in the nfl. They said they will eithier trade down and get more picks or take stephen jackson or roy williams. Lions really like ben troupe who they feel they can land in the second rd. I think the lions are full of it and they will make a move with new england and move down.
Here's my picks course all may disagree, based on team needs. 1. chargers, eli manning 2.raiders, larry fitzgerald 3. cardinals, ben roethlisberger (trade down) 4. giants, robert gallery 5. skins, shaun taylor 6. lions, roy williams or trade down 7.bengals, winslow jr 8.falcons, t harris 9.jags, mike williams 10. texans, kenechi Udeze
Just a note, but they say WINSLOW is visiting with the REDSKINS today. Whether that means anything or not, I don't know.
once again, i have a hard time agreeing to have mike williams in a top 10 situation because he hasnt worked out yet, i doubt jags will take him it is just what if he runs a 4.7 40, he is not going at 9 with a bad time.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Bucs40etrain)</div><div class='quotemain'>Here's my picks course all may disagree, based on team needs. 7.bengals, winslow jr 10. texans, kenechi Udeze</div> I believe Cleveland drafts 7th and may go w/ Winslow or DeAngelo Hall. I don't know who Houston will take but Udeze is not a good fit in a 3-4 scheme wither as DE or OLB.
Black, i miss printed on the bengals and browns. As for udeze it was a toss up between him or will smith. However you could be right on deanglo hall.

Williams is out. San Diego is not drafting Manning. This whole draft is going to change before your very eyes. Any last minute changes on the eve of the draft?
