Today on April 18th if you could effectively undo the Clippers and Pelicans trades would you do so?

So hypothetically the Blazers would have CJ, Norm, Nance under contract next season and Roco bird rights; without any resentment from the players. The Blazers could keep any of these guys or deal them in future trades.

Or do you prefer to keep the assets the Blazers currently ended up with; Hart, Winslow, Didi, Keon, and the 2025 Bucks pick.

We got shit value so I'd take them back and retrade them.

I think everybody wanted to trade those players, they just believe we could've done better than we did.

Tell you what: what I would prefer is to have the assets we gave up on the first place to GET those players - three first rounders, Gary Trent, etc.

Actually, this is kind of depressing.

On one side: Hart is a better player than Powell and a better fit than CJ.
Winslow has already flopped with multiple teams.
Didi and Keon are empty uniforms.

On the flip side: CJ is a good player but a bad fit and somewhat over-paid.
Nance is a good player who can't stay healthy long enough to matter.
RoCo is either toasted or had a bad attitude.
Powell is a mystery. He showed in Toronto he could be a useful player, but for various reasons he fell short with Blazers and Clips.

This question reminds me of an old saying. If you put a cup of wine into a barrel of sewage, you have a barrel of sewage. If you put a cup of sewage into a barrel of wine, you have a barrel of sewage.

IMHO, this is the best answer by far.

If we could wave a magic wand and redo the season I would have talked Lillard into having the surgery earlier and rolled into the playoffs with the team we started the season with.

Unfortunately, that wasn't an option and "everybody" had unrealistic expectations regarding the value we could get back for those players.

They had to go. And the whole league knew that. The options were keeping them, or getting what we got.

Nobody else wanted CJ or Norm on those contracts.

IMO Simons was ready for a bigger role. He made CJ expendable. Hart is better suited to play alongside all three of them. So yes I would rather have
Dame, Simons, and Hart at guard AND the 6th pick which I doubt we would have tanked hard enough if we kept all those other players.

You guys can argue for years that CJ could have brought back a better return, but it really didn't seem like teams that we wanted to trade with really liked CJ's contract, not when many of them already had a cheaper version of CJ. Albeit not quite as good of a player, but close enough for them not to pull the trigger while giving us their star forward.

Never was a huge RoCo fan as a starting PF. Bench player yes but not a starter. So I do not care about his bird rights as I would not have wanted to overpay to keep him.

I like both Nance and Winslow about the same. Injuries have been a factor with both. The development of Watford at PF makes it easy to lose Nance at PF/C and add Winslow who defends SG/SF/PF

As for Norm, we never really saw what he could do at SG. But again I like what we have now better. No clue how good Keon will end up but he certainly has potential. Either way, I am ok with eliminating NPs remaining 75 million dollar contract.

I am probably in the minority but I feel that the players received help balance the roster and give flexibility financially going forward.
The draft compensation received leaves a lot to be desired obviously however what is done has been. Cronin could have gotten more or he couldn’t, as fans we typically over value our own assets to a fault.
That being said I will wait until the playoffs next year to decide if his plan/ vision pays off providing he keeps the position.

If you chose the second option, you live in ClownTown. Try to justify it all you want. NO FUCKING WAY WE ARE BETTER WITH THE BOTTOM OPTION OF PLAYERS! Ask Dame who he’d rather play with and who would help him get further.

Before this last season started. what was your prediction for wins? I don't recall it being very high. Clearly, you had concerns, and that was when everyone was healthy. Are we really that much worse? I guess I should wait to see if we use the full MLE or the TPE, but I just don't see it. But then again I do live in ClownTown (LA)

Don’t kid yourself, Dame signed off on those trades or they wouldn’t have been done. The current roster is not the roster the Blazers will have by camp. That’s the one that matters.

Those players got him where exactly? They got him to 3rd place in the division and a first round exit last year
