My question relates specifically to clutch shooting. Roy seemed to have a knack for making clutch plays and hitting big shots but after watching Lillard just keeping going to work night after night. I began to ask myself is he more clutch than Roy. You got .9 vs Roy's 4th quarter vs. Dallas, tons of big time game winners and clutch buckets on both sides so much so that it is hard to say for sure. I believe he is but maybe that is because I am watching him do his thing on TV right now and Roy is sadly retired. So I pose the question to all of you is Lillard more clutch than Brandon Roy was?
Dame passed him with the .9 game, extended the lead with the Spurs game and now he's 5 car lengths ahead after last night.
I think so because with Lillard, there hasn't been many clutch shots he's missed. With Roy he had some incredible clutch moments, clutch comebacks on his back, etc. but there were also some games where Roy didn't end up coming through. Not a big deal, that's just how the game works, but with Lillard, we honestly haven't experienced a ton of that. He feels invincible right now. If it was just one season, I'd still have Roy on top due to sample size, but Lillard has done it at such a high level over multiple seasons he's over Roy now for me. Even if he does even out a bit lower (his numbers are absolutely insane right now), he'll still have it over Roy in the future because of what he's already done and because Roy's not going to be able to add to his legacy at all while Lillard can.
One thing we DO know, is that for a guy who drinks like a fish, he sure can hold his liquor. NO I WILL NOT STOP MAKING THIS REFERENCE! It has to be brought up over and over because of just how fucking stupid it was in the first place.
Yes for me. I still think Roy was better at getting to the rim and scoring there, but Dame's 3-pt shooting is just otherworldly and tips the balance in his favor.
Roy got easier shots, but Dame has a flair for the dramatic and shoots better from outside. I think he has passed him
But that's bgd..... I'm sure there's a million things he has posted that make no sense. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Roy seemed like he dropped off on his around the rim scoring even before the knees, and let those screams out trying to get fouls. First 2 years Dame had issues finishing at the rim, but as usual, when a weakness is brought up, he gets rid of it. Dame has been VERY good around the rim this year.
