I expected him to play better than he has. I never thought he'd start but I thought he would provide more on defense and be able to slash to the hoop. Yes he's missing some shots from being rusty but he doesn't contribute as much in other areas as I thought he would. Before I thought we might consider resigning him in the summer but at this rate I'd rather go with Crabbe, Harkless, or some other teams free agent.

Has your opinion of Hendo changed from earlier expectations?

I'm fine, he's done nothing to hurt his trade value.

He's going to fit in great..just give him some minutes to get his bearings. He's played less with these guys than anybody on the team except Montero and Alexander.

He JUST came back. He didn't get training camp. He's used to starting. I don't expect him to set the world on fire.

He's gotta play himself back into shape. Let's revisit in March.

I don't think it's as matter of Henderson disappointing, but more Crabbe impressing. I trust Crabbe's defense and shot. He's not spectacular, but he's solid

Although it's a small sample set for Henderson, Crabbe is out performing him at all the key statistics.
    Crabbe:
    PPG: 8.7
    FG%: 48.9%
    3P%: 35.5%
    PER: 12.7
    WS: 0.6
    Age: 23
    Henderson:
    PPG: 5.2
    FG%: 40.7%
    3P%: 33.3%
    PER: 6.0
    WS: -0.1
    Age: 27

At this point I'd prefer to give the minutes to the younger still improving Crabbe, unless Henderson can step up and prove he deserves the minutes.

In fairness to Gerald, AC knows the playbook and has played here for a few years so that's a bit of a leg up...Gerald is basically in preseason shape and has to make more adjustments to his new team and roster. AC has played with Damian, Meyers, CJ and Kaman for going on his third season

Offensively, he's been almost a mirror image of what he was last year, he's shooting percentages from 2 and 3 are almost identical. So what you see here is an accurate microcosm of the kind of player he is. Why else do you think the Hornets were willing to give him up plus a lottery pick?

yeah but last season he needed hip surgery, this summer he had it. I don't think it's a fair comparison. I think he's a good piece for the team and will gel soon enough

I too would rather play crabbe. I think crabbe can become a great 3 and d player ala Danny Greene. With that said, I'd keep playing hendo for now to continue to pile uplosses and to hopefully turn HIm into at least a second rounder from a contending team.

Hendo needs to stop shooting threes. He was great in his first game hitting midrange shots and getting to the rim.

I disagree..he needs to get his shot going. He's a better shooter than we've seen. We need guys to use the 3pt shot and get comfortable with Stotts system. Plumlee is making his FTs and Hendo will make some 3s

Hendo here is reminding me of Aaron Afflalo first few weeks in Portland. Yes there's legit excuses for his bad play but it's still concerning. Afflalo never clicked here and like Hendo some SG just really decline as they hit their late 20's.

I haven't made my mind up on Hendo but how he performs on the court is starting to look like a trend.

So his play hasn't changed your opinion of him at all? How many more games until it does?

I find this extremely hypocritical coming from the person who keeps saying that Wesley Matthews is done.

I hope he plays better so that we get better trade value for him come February.

Since their contracts, injuries, and expected roles are exactly the same?

Since he just came back, didn't get training camp, is put into an entirely new offense, and there were questions as to if he would even be strong enough to be on the court at this point.

Is it that new of an offense though since Carlisle and Stotts run such similar schemes?
