Some ESPN writer Casey was talking to on Twitter seems to think Korver is an all star and LMA isn't, so there's that.
I would absolutely love for both Aldridge and Dame be snubbed! We get rest and both would be fired up for the rest of the season.
You and me, both! Unfortunately I think at least LMA will make it...probably Dame, too. I hope, if LMA is named, he thanks the league for the honor and decides to sit this one out. (Same with Dame, but he won't and doesn't really have an excuse like LMA does.)
Not according to LA. He was asked that question the other day and said that if he gets picked he's absolutely going to play. Probably just a few minutes, but he definitely plans on playing.
Not sure why any healthy player would sit out the all star game. Every player in the league wants to be recognized as an all star player. If they don't play they don't get recognized.
I really, really hope that both will be snubbed... It would be such a perfect storm. I can actually see Aldridge not making it because news of him being out came when the coaches voted. Dame may not make it because CP3, Conley and Klay could get in. Nothing is guaranteed
Oh, I know they would BOTH play. I'm just saying what I'D like to happen...not that I think it would happen.
Magnifier- I think All Star nods are important to Lillard and Aldridge. I want them to be happy. It gives them cred in the league and the respect of the officials. I rarely see a player play worse because he receives this kind of recognition. Usually the other way around. After Nash won MVPS, he started having 40 point games I'm that year's playoffs. As for rest, the break is extended so they will still get a lot of rest. I'm really really hoping they both get in.
They are absolutely deserving, but I would much rather have them play pissed all season and win it all. I would trade 10 All-star appearances for 1 championship. You snub them, and there would be no stopping them
Obviously it wouldn't be a snub if LMA didn't make it. It would be coaches having left him off because they didn't think he'd be available at the time they voted. He would have been near-unanimous prior to the surgery announcement, so that is the only thing possibly affecting his chances.
