He spent last season with Winnipeg, which advanced to the Grey Cup championship game before losing to the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Hebert was a three-time team tackling leader at Louisiana-Lafayette and signed his first pro contract as a college free agent with the Minnesota Vikings in April 2002.
