    Highest vertical

I don't know what happened to this thread, but this is how I got introduced to this forum. It's like MIB took over and everybody forgot about it or I just can't find it. Man I'm starting to believe that the 50 inch thread didn't even exist myself. Man that thread was the shiznit, if it ever existed that is. Don't visit for a couple of weeks and things dissapear.

But anyways, he really has the highest vertical?

I've heard that David Thompson could touch the top of the backboard too, at 6'4. 44 inches is high, but at that height, it's not high enough unless that was his standing vertical and he probaly really could get up to about 55 inches or something. But highest now, from what I've seen in this forum was a 45 from Kedrick Brown, I don't know because he apparently has the green light to display his jump. And yes, Vince has no 50, if he did, he could've done the 360 widmill and stick his elbow in the rim at the same time. Hell I've never ever saw his head leveled with rim, the closest was a 1/2 inch below.

A friend of mines once told me that volleyball player Karch Kiraly has about a 50 inch vertical. I don't know anything about volleyball so I don't know how true that is. They do jump in the sand tho, so that's pretty crazy...

Are you guys talkin about porn stars? Just playin

Didn't Sinjin used to play with Karch back then?

NotMuchGame- I play beach volleyball and if Karch had a 50 inch vert in the sand, then just add about 5-10 more inches to his regular jump....thats crazy

Well, I don't think they measured his vertical in the sand...I'm pretty sure my friend meant 50 inches on solid land...The whole "sand comment" was meant to point out that jumping in the sand a lot probably increases your vertical on regular land.. Regardless, I'm not too sure if I believe he has a 50 inch vertical. I will say that it's possible I guess.

I was sure it was IMPOSSIBLE up until a few years ago when i played bball against this guy who was a volleyball player. He was only about 5'5'' or so, but when I went up for a layup, he pinned my shot against the backboard...I was speechless.... I can only imagine how the greatest volleyball players in the world jump...50 inches, ehhh, i still doubt it, but i'm keeping an open mind now.

I think 50 inches(jumping that is) is pretty possible with volleyball players. The whole game is about taking off of two feet as high as you can and spiking the ball. I screwed myself in the beginning because I played volleyball first and then basketball. I can jump better off of two feet than off one.

A 50 inch vert is very believable, especially since the guy was like 6'1-6'3 or so and not that heavy

Ben Wallace can get up there, but Shannon Brown, A freshman for Michigan State, has a vertical of 45 inches.

karch kiraly played olympic volleyball before playing beach volleyball, so it's possible they measured his vert while playing on hardwood courts. javier sotomayor holds the world record in high jump, which is 2 meters 45 centimeters (more than 8 feet)... think about that, he has to get his entire body to clear 8 feet. his vert has to be off the charts.

i just checked and many websites attribute a vert of 52 inches to earl manigault.. but they may be just copying one another.
