Since buying the Dolphins, Stephen Ross has sold a small minority stake in the team to Jimmy Buffett, Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez, Gloria Estafan, and as of yesterday, Venus and Serena Williams. I have racked my brain and I can not think of any value the franchise gains from having a minority owner that happens to be somewhat famous. Am I missing it? Is there anything gained for a football team because of these moves?
Keeps them in the news and if those celebrities bring their celebrity friends to the game it draws even more media attention.
