https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...ts-face-us-justice-return-alabama/2914244002/ Personally I think she should not be allowed to return.
Read the fine print on your US passport. Even if you are a citizen, you leave the country and join or support a foreign fighting force you can't come back. She's doubly fucked if she isn't a US citizen.
I'd be fine letting her in and then sending her to Guantanamo. But it would be cheaper to leave her where she is. barfo
She knowingly joined a terrorist organization - one she also knew views women as chattel. What - did she join for the great dental plan? She may be a complete idiot, but she was not tricked, manipulated, coerced, or brainwashed.
My natural reaction is “fuck her”! She was an adult and made her decision. She doesn’t deserve America anymore. However, if our goal is to decrease the number of people radicalized against us, then perhaps we should show the empathy and compassion for her. Illustrate to other turncoats that there is a better way then continued fighting, an option that doesn’t require violence. What I’d like to see is her plead guilty as a way back. She does not deserve amnesty by beating the legal system. If she pleads, accepts responsibility and pays a penalty with her freedom for some agreed upon timeframe, then I would be willing to accept her back.
When did Americans vote on whether to have a war in Syria? Do you think it would have gotten at least 51%? (Hint: No.)
In April of 2018 Gallup had the approval rating of air strikes against Syria at 50% approve and 43% disapprove. https://news.gallup.com/poll/232997...ericans%20Approve%20of%20Strikes%20on%20Syria
If she's switching teams...I'd make her serve the country over there on the good guys side...she knows the culture, language, habits...she would have to work to prove that trust.....if she runs away from the good guys while over there...she was a plant to begin with. She has a child to care for ...we let Oswald back in from the former USSR after he abandoned America, married a Russian woman and was not given a good job, decided to bring her back to Texas....that didn't turn out well at all
Here's a question: Trump had majorities in the house and Senate for 2 years. TWO FUCKING YEARS. Republicans controlled ALL four branches of government. Y'all even had majorities in th SCOTUS. Why didn't Trump pass his wall funding then?
