But Curry and his teammates are unapologetically destroying Adam Silver’s Bolshevist basketball state. The Golden State Warriors are 15-0. If they win Tuesday against the lowly Los Angeles Lakers, they will break the record for the hottest start in NBA history; no NBA team has won its first 16 games.

    How are they doing this?

(more at the link, a good read)

I'd be worried if i was a Warriors fan.
A lot of times these kind of fairy tale beginnings turn into shit.

Yeah I would not feel too secure if I was a Warrior fan either. they are still good without Curry but not great.
I guess you can say this about any team who loses their super star, but if he gets hurt....things change in a hurry.

Almost 40 years later and I still remember exactly where I was when Walton went down in 78' and the gut wrenching realization that the 50-10 start was all for nothing.

    Curry.

    Oh, and Draymond.

Green has made all the difference. He's a guy who is an elite defensive player AND an elite passer for his position (PF).

One of the best glue guys I've ever seen.

It would be funny if the Warriors end up #1 seed and meet the Mavs in the #8 seed and somehow the Mavs will avenge that series loss they had against the Warriors (after the Mavs had a dream-like season with 67 wins or something).

I think we match up well with Warriors if we get 8 seed.

The only problem is Curry, no one "matches up well" with him.

Speaking of Walton, his son gets no credit for the coaching job he's doing. If Kerr were doing this, the media would be full of Kerr, Kerr, Kerr like last season.

And it was 40 years ago when the Warriors last won the title, because of Rick Barry's return from the ABA, and the defense of Walton sidekick turned Rookie of the Year Keith Wilkes. Which cliché should I type, things turn full circle, or it's a small world.

After Chamberlain left, San Francisco had gone through years of a mediocre team, but they didn't have to wait 40 like this time.

Hmm maybe not on our team, that's what you meant by this right? I watched cp3 shut curry down the first half of the most recent clipper game.

And what did he do in the second half? No one can shut Curry down for a full game but Curry himself.

Since they already have a title, it hardly matters even if it does.

A lot of time the team with the best record doesn't win the title.

I don't think the streak is hurting their chances; it's just real hard to win a title. If I could pick the field or the Warriors I'm taking the field. If I was a Warriors fan I'd be very happy with my teams chances though.

Agreed. They can play free and loose because they're on house money. It actually makes them much more dangerous because there's no pressure of failure. Compared to Cp3 and Blake Griffin; they get really tense and nervous in close games.

I think it's problematic when you reach your "peak" too early in the season, if it was Popovich he probably would have rested players and turned it down a notch.
