You literally have to go to John Canzano's personal page to find a headline that's even remotely negative -- and I'm sure we're ALL shocked that he went that route. If your definition of backlash is a bunch of social media handles complaining, you haven't spent much time on social media. I think all but the worst among us can agree that abusers of women, children, the elderly and animals are scum, plain and simple. If I knew with absolute certainty that Chauncey did what he's accused of, I wouldn't be in favor of his hiring, no matter how long ago it was or how good of a coach he is. But the fact is that there's really not much to go off of, aside from an accusation that never went anywhere. I'm all for believing women, and I'm also all for cancelling that which deserves to be cancelled, but I also do not think you can hold something like this against someone half a lifetime ago. Is it a footnote in his candidacy? 100%, it bears looking into and acknowledging, and I'm sure it'll be mentioned in every article from the above outlets. But without more to go on, it can't be something that disqualifies someone for the rest of their lives. He's had no issues since the incident and by all accounts appears to be an upstanding person.
