In the backcourt, give Napier between 16-20, Pat between 16-20. Give Dame and CJ less minutes but to keep them frest throughout the game and through the season.
In the frontcourt maintain some hierarchy with Nurk getting the most minutes but even him should play only about 24 minutes per game and give our big men rotation minutes depending on matchups with each playing at least every other game.
Have more players getting minutes and less minutes per player, would allow us to use more energy and keep the key players fresh towards the playoffs

Lmao. You're strategy to get better is to post our better players less and our worse players more?

You need to put "Scrub Lover" under your moniker.

If this will work, my idea is better.

Rotate them every 2 minutes. Dame starts at point guard and plays two guard after two minutes. Nurk starts at center but plays point guard after two minutes.

CJ then plays small forward and so on.

The other team won't know what to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, what a misleading thread title. Thread was how to fix the Blazers, but the suggestion would make them worse

We could also adapt the hockey substitution, and do it on the fly.

Not necessarily. Like he said, the great players like Dame and CJ can play with more energy if they play less. I loved our 1999 team where we basically had two starting lineups and they could play at a very high level and then the other unit came in and dominated. We came at teams in waves. The 2009-10 Suns team did this very well too. Two 5 player units.

If playing less would make Lillard and McCollum taller in the minutes they did play, I'd be more interested.

I think you're onto something, but with this roster it will only work if we can play both 5 man units at the same time.

And if we did, would Stotts finally, reluctantly double team the opponent's best player/hot hand?

Out of all your ideas, this is probably the least crazy. The only problem is to pull it off we’d have to have more talent throughout the roster. Yeah, Napier deserves more minutes, but not many other guys on do.

Yep, let them go for 50 and double and triple everyone else.

Wouldn't want to let some crappy role player to beat us. Best leave that up to the superstars.

    Genius idea, here's some more:

    Get-Em Strategy #1:
Since Aminu isn't the best rebounder at the PF slot, let's try the following tried and true strategy:
Keep Al "Manute" Aminu at the top of the 3 point line, never going near the paint. So, we'll have the best transition
    D in the league!!!!

    Get-Em Strategy #2:
Since CJ is the poorest defender on the team, Terry "Vivek Ranadivé" Stotts could have him "permanently cherrying",
never going past the half court line. So, we'll have the best fast break in the league!!!!

Just do like they did against Boston a few years ago and play with 6 players versus 5.

I think I have a better idea on defense.

All 5 players join hands and form a circle and let other teams bomb from 3. No scoring in the paint. And when we do get a rebound we'll run down court in a weave and confuse everyone.

Another thought - can we have CJ carry Lillard on his shoulders - this will make McLillard the tallest PG in the league and with a smart uniform alteration allow the 6 on 5 option.
