Mess, I was about to post this same thing...As I've said before, I'd like to see them go from a best of 5 first round to a best of 7, but making almost half of the MLB teams part of a new format is just silly.

A team should get what it earns nothing more nothing less.. Wild card bullshit each team has 162 chances to finish first in their division second place should have stayed at no place. It's all about money.

Easiest solution if MLB insists is do it similar to the NFL. 2 best records get a bye, the next division winner gets home field advantage vs the worst wild card option and then 2 wild cards play. It’s not ideal but unless MLB is looking to expand to 32 teams it will work if MLB truly wants to expand playoffs.

    ....^^^^ indeed, seriously stupid!

I miss the best of the AL/NL "winner takes all", without any LCS games; and heads directly to the W.S.

I also miss the best of the East plays best of the West!

That being said- I'd rather see MLB revert back to 2 Divisions, East and West.

Or- go back to a single Wild Card Team, but with 7 games LDS and LCS.

    Continued later....

Every time MLB expands, the sport as a whole suffers from over dilution; resulting in a lack of talent; creating a glorified Minor League system, while seriously screwing up the historical reason for statistics and records overall.

It's only a matter of time before expansion rears its ugly head again.

I foresee a time in the future when MLB has 4 Divisions and 16 Teams, in both the AL & NL.
Or 4 Divisions and 18 or 20 Teams, which will seeiously fkup our sport, though MLB is barely a sport, but more of a business, where athletes have become commodities.

It's only a matter of time before we see teams in some of these cities:

    Vancouver
    Montreal
    Portland
San Jose - 10th largest city by pop. Sacramento (fk Fresno)
    Albuquerque / (fk Tucson)
San Antonio - 7th largest US City
Austin 11th largest city by pop.
Fk El Paso and Fk Vegas too!
    Salt Lake City
Indianapolis - 14th largest city by population
    Columbus Ohio - 15th largest
    Omaha
    Ok City
    Wichita
    New Orleans
    Richmond or Virginia Beach
    Nashville or Louisville
    Memphis - 23rd
    Charlotte - 17th
    Jacksonville
Orlando and or a few other FLA cities

    Did I say Fk Vegas!!!
