Huskies bailed, but weren't required to count it as a forfeit. The cancelation means the Huskies win the Pac North by default. Not really a Duck fan and I wouldn't have bet on them to beat the Huskies on the field - but they deserved the chance! Duck fans have every right to be pissed!
They are. The rule says they must have at least 53 scolarship players available and they say they don't. How they picked that arbitrary number is beyond me. 46 would give you 2 deep at every position + 2 kickers. Teams used to play with less then that.
I'll go with Canzano on this one. Ohio State's opponent isn't showing up either. Make up the earlier cancelled game. The Ducks would get beat bad but it would let them see how much work they needed to do.
as a Duck fan, it sucks that the fuckin dawgs get to backdoor into the Pac-12 title game (although if the UW is held to the standards of the county they live in they won't have enough players. It's a 14 day quarantine and the title game is in 8 days that said, all the Ducks needed to do was make a couple more good plays the last two Saturdays (or a couple less bad plays)and they'd have won the North championship, whatever that's worth (almost nothing this year). Oregon had too many losses from their roster (16 starters) from last year to this year and their recruiting hasn't been good enough, long enough, to overcome that massive hole in their continuity. They just weren't very good this year
They didnt want to play Oregon, why would they, when they'd get beat. The Dawgs looked like shit last week-end too.
Going with Canzano is usually a mistake! An Oregon v Ohio St game makes no sense for either party and was never going to happen.
Washington has no incentive to show up and all the reason to not show up. Don’t care that the Ducks get hosed, but the PAC-12 couldn’t be more broken, as evidenced between this, their officiating, and numerous other things.
