EDIT: “forces a game 5”. Wow I’m dumb. A desperate Portland squad in Game 5, with a sold out Moda Center behind them, could create a very interesting series. I know it’s never been done before but in most series like this it seems like usually those 3-1 game 5s are on the road. Forcing a game 6 in NO would flip all of the pressure back on NO. It would almost feel like a must win for them. First things first we have to win tomorrow. But honestly, I really believe that if we win tomorrow that this team could have a serious opportunity. It all depends on which Blazer team shows up. For as bad as G1 and G2 were we found a way to scratch and claw back into each and had a chance to win them both at the end. You have to think at some point Mirotic is not going to bury every single shot he takes, and that a guy like Dame or CJ is due for a crazy game. I get very emotional during games and say some really dumb shit about Dame, but at the end of the day deep down I know what he’s about. There’s no way in hell he shows up tomorrow having mailed it in. He’s gonna give it everything, believe that. Yes I’m reaching far and drinking some serious Blazer kool-aid but I’m being positive for once so enjoy it while it lasts. I’m serious. I have a good feeling about tomorrow. And if we SOMEHOW find a way to get it done I’d feel REALLY good about game 5. If we could rattle off two you never know. Crazier shit has happened. A 16 just beat a 1. Shit. Go blazers.
If we win tomorrow we’re winning in 7. We’d be playing with nothing to lose if we force another game. Shit everyone thinks this is already over. Just wait for the replies in this thread. Pelicans would play with all the pressure.
The bad news is that we're down 0-3. The good news is if we win the next three games by wide margins, we will be favored in a game 7. pause . . . LOL, yeah, like hell.
Sorry, I'm a huge homer but even I see the writing on the wall. My wife, bless her heart, disagrees and thanks we've got a shot at winning tomorrow.
There's possessions where they get good shots, but it's not often. A wide open 3 isn't a good shot if they arent falling. He constantly says were getting easybshots, but we don't have a single layup thatbisnt HEAVILY contested. We need other action than the pick n roll.
There's a such thing as a shooting slump. If the team can't make a 3 and is slumping,.figure out a different way to beat them, instead of confusing to brick 3 after 3 then falling back into the excuse of "we missed shots". Great teams have many different ways to beat ya. For us, if we dont shoot well from 3, we lose. Its a problem.
The margin of victory has been getting wider every game. That does not bode well for a game 4 win. Plus, Game three was our do-or-die moment. If we couldn’t find a way to win that one, I don’t think we’re going to win the next one. The fat lady has sung.
The team just needs to get hot... They are getting plenty of open looks, they just aren't hitting enough of them to force the defense to lay off of Dame. This series is probably over, but the offense is working the way it's supposed to. We'd have less turnovers if we were hitting shots. Which would probably put our defense about where it was during the regular season. We just need guys who will hit those shots around Dame. This team simply has too many droughts and we don't have enough firepower to overcome those droughts against quality teams. We need to get a Barnes type player without giving up CJ.
Please just lose tomorrow... don’t give Neil any reason to think we should continue with Dame/CJ combo next season. A sweep will make it impossible for him to defend status quo
I dunno, I took the thread title at face value, since it feels like something needs to happen for tomorrow to even be a game.
1.) Harrison Barnes sucks. 2.) Our offense is pathetic. No ball movement, no player movement, no basket cuts, pick n rolls at halfcourt even though Dames getting trapped... I guess that is how Stotts is designing it though, huh?
