Cristhian Bathena Rivera, 24, was charged with first-degree murder Tuesday in Tibbetts' death, officials confirmed. Cristhian Bahena Rivera, 24, was charged with first-degree murder Tuesday in the death of Mollie Tibbetts, a missing 20-year-old college student from Iowa. (Iowa Department of Public Safety) Authorities said Rivera, who lived in the rural Poweshiek County area, is being held on a federal immigration detainer. He's believed to have been in the area for four to seven years. The body of Tibbetts, a 20-year-old University of Iowa student, was found Tuesday in a field covered with corn stalks. Her father and two sources confirmed to Fox News on Tuesday morning that Tibbetts was found dead; investigators said later in the day they were working to formally identify the body. MOLLIE TIBBETTS, UNIVERSITY OF IOWA STUDENT FOUND DEAD: A TIMELINE OF EVENTS Investigators said they used surveillance footage to track down Rivera. The video showed Tibbetts jogging in a rural area near her hometown of Brooklyn, and also showed Rivera's car. She was last seen around 7:30 p.m. on July 18 after she went for a jog around a neighborhood in Brooklyn. Video Mollie Tibbetts murdered: Timeline of events Tibbetts' family pleaded for her safe return and had remained hopeful she would be found alive. Her father, Rob, previously told Fox News that "somebody knows something." Brooklyn, according to her father, is a small city and “you can’t do anything there without someone seeing it.” Iowa's Division of Criminal Investigation received more than 4,000 tips during the investigation, and had roughly 30 to 40 investigators working on the case. Investigators followed "hundreds" of those leads — interviewing several hundred people and canvassing a nearby hog farm, cornfields and other properties for traces of the college student. Two items Tibbetts typically took with her — a Fitbit and cellphone — remained missing. Investigators announced last week that they were focusing the search on five locations in and around Brooklyn, which included a car wash just a block away from the city’s main commercial strip and a TA truck stop next to Interstate 80, which runs across the entirety of Iowa. Brooklyn, a town of just 1,400 people, was shaken by Tibbetts' disappearance. Blake Jack, the brother of Tibbetts’ boyfriend, told Fox News on Aug. 8 there was no sign of a struggle at the Brooklyn home she was staying in at the time. Dalton, Tibbetts' boyfriend of two years, said he believed the doors of the home where his girlfriend last stayed had been left unlocked. “It’s Brooklyn. You don’t lock your doors,” Dalton said. “We lock our doors now. Every night.” Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds called Tibbetts' death "heart-wrenching," and said that Iowans "are angry that a broken immigration system allowed a predator like this to live in our community." "Mollie Tibbetts, our hearts are broken," Republican Iowa Rep. Steve King tweeted Tuesday. "We all prayed for your safe return. May you now be with the Lord and your family one day find a peace. Justice must now be served. RIP Mollie." Fox News' Katherine Lam and Lillian LeCroy contributed to this report.

IMMIGRATION 13 hours ago Nazi labor camp guard caught by ICE, deported to Germany, completing 'difficult task,' Grenell says By Benjamin Brown, Travis Fedschun | Fox News FILE - In this Nov. 20, 2003 file photo, Jakiw Palij, a former Nazi concentration camp guard, stands in front of a building in the Queens borough of New York. The White House says that Palij, a 95-year-old former Nazi concentration camp guard has been deported to Germany, 14 years after a judge ordered his expulsion. In a statement, the White House said the deportation of Palij, who lived in New York City, was carried out early Tuesday Aug. 21, 2018. (Suzanne DeChillo/The New York Times via AP, File) The last known Nazi collaborator living in the United States -- a 95-year-old former camp guard who played an "indispensable role" in the murders of thousands of Jews -- was deported to Germany from his New York City home early Tuesday morning, completing what the U.S. ambassador to Germany called a "difficult task." Richard Grenell, the U.S. ambassador who arrived in Germany earlier this year after political maneuvering by Democrats held up his nomination for months, told "FOX & friends" in an exclusive interview that President Trump — who is from New York — instructed him to make the removal of Jakiw Palij a priority. Grenell said the new German government, which took office in March, brought "new energy" to the matter. "It's really a credit to President Trump, who was very clear about this case, made clear he wanted this individual out of the United States," Grenell said, later adding, "it's a great day for the United States to have this man out of our country." Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents on Tuesday implemented a deportation order against Palij that dated to 2004. But kicking out Palij, who immigrated to the U.S. in 1949 and became a citizen in 1957 after concealing his Nazi background, was no easy task. Grenell said the deportation came after months of diplomatic negotiations, and was "difficult" because Palij is not a German citizen and was stateless after losing his citizenship in the U.S. Palij admitted to Department of Justice officials in 2003 that he trained at a Nazi camp in German-occupied Poland. (AP) "[Germany] had a moral obligation, not necessarily a legal one, because he worked in the name of the then-German government," he told "FOX & friends." The ambassador praised Germany's new foreign and interior ministers who both "wanted to work with President Trump to make this happen." He also said that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was "aggressive" about the case. Palij admitted to Department of Justice officials in 2003 that he trained at a Nazi camp in German-occupied Poland. Court documents indicated that men who trained at the SS Training camp in Trawniki carried out the Nazi regime’s plan to murder Jews in Poland. This 1957 photo provided by the US Department of Justice shows Jakiw Palij, a former Nazi concentration camp guard. (US Department of Justice via AP) The 95-year-old also served as an armed guard at the adjacent Trawniki Labor Camp – where he played an “indispensable role” in the death of roughly 6,000 Jews who were killed in one of the single largest massacres of the Holocaust in 1943, according to the statement. This Nov. 9, 2017 file photo shows the home, left, of former Nazi concentration camp guard Jakiw Palij, in the Jackson Heights neighborhood of the Queens borough of New York. (AP Photo/Kathy Willens) Palij, who claimed he was working on a farm and in a factory during World War II, had his U.S. citizenship revoked in 2003 by a federal judge, and ordered to be deported a year later. His appeal was denied in 2005. After the war, Palij maintained friendships with other Nazi guards who the government says came to the U.S. under similar false pretenses. And in an interesting coincidence, Palij and his wife purchased their Queens home near LaGuardia Airport in 1966 from a Polish Jewish couple who had survived the Holocaust and were not aware of his past. “Through extensive negotiations, President Trump and his team secured Palij’s deportation to Germany and advanced the United States’ collaborative efforts with a key European ally,” the statement read. The State Department later issued a statement saying Germany has re-admitted Palij. As for what will happen to Palij in Germany, Grenell said "it's in the hands of the Germans" to figure out what to do with him next. "The fact is we have a president who really wants to fight for the American people, make sure that the rule of law is followed," he told "FOX & friends." In a special ceremony at the White House on Monday, Trump honored two agencies -- Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection -- however, as ABC News noted Palij was not mentioned. PCSO: Mulberry man, 31, had sex with 16-year-old girl 20 times By Gary White Posted Aug 20, 2018 at 2:15 PM Updated at 11:56 AM Jesus Ramirez-Velasco of Mulberry has been arrested for alleged sexual battery on a 16-year-old girl, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday. He faces 20 counts of sexual battery, the PCSO reported. WINTER HAVEN — A Mulberry man has been arrested for alleged sexual battery on a 16-year-old girl, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday. Jesus Ramirez-Velasco, 31, was arrested Saturday and faces 20 counts of sexual battery, the PCSO reported. Ramirez-Velasco was the boyfriend of the girl’s mother, according to a news release. The victim told investigators that Ramirez-Velasco first initiated unwanted sexual contact with her in mid-December, the Sheriff’s Office reported. An investigation found that the two had sexual intercourse at least 20 times, and Ramirez-Velasco confirmed that, the release said. The Sheriff’s Office began investigating over the weekend after the victim told her mother about the encounters and said Ramirez-Velasco had threatened to harm her mother if the girl didn’t have sex with him again. Upon his arrest, Ramirez-Velasco told detectives that he knew the activity was illegal but claimed the victim had asked him for sex, the PCSO reported. “A crime such as this against a child is heinous,” Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said. “To blame the victim for his behavior is appalling.” Ramirez-Velasco, a native of Mexico, was arrested by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in 2008 and deported, the Sheriff’s Office said. He later returned illegally to the United States. The Sheriff’s Office notified ICE of Ramirez-Velasco’s current arrest and charges, the release said. He was caught long before ICE came into existence. He was denaturalized in July of 2003. Germany refused to take him back until now.
Out of the hundreds of thousands of rapes you found one with a Latin last name. Congratulations, you must have waited a long time for this.
2 1/2 Million illegal immigrants entered the US under Obama and you found one of the rotten apples. I wonder what the percentage of such rotten apples is, I'll bet it's pretty low. Such immigrants commit these crimes much less often than the general population of U.S. citizens.
Brother, there is so many things in this statement that are wrong on so many levels...and to think you would make this statement as a defense?
