    Apparently he's a lame duck in L.A.

I'm interested to read what you guys think about him.
Obviously, he's hiring sounds possible because it fits the Trail-Blazers lore to some extent.

Have you watched him coach? will he be an upgrade over Terry? Is the Lakers debacle his fault? did he really deserve credit for the Whoriors success?

This seems like an odd suggestion.

Or at the very least, odd timing. The Blazers are playing their best ball of the season and are looking like they can win more than 50 games and even move up in the standings to maybe the second seed. So now is just a very weird time to talk about replacing the coach with a guy who’s essentially lost his team and will not make the playoffs.

Definetly falls under the anybody is better the Stotts as a coach. Heard the Suns might fire their coach, lets bring him in as we are at it.
If the Spurs fire Pop (not gonna happen ever) that would be a coach to replace Stotts.

If they fire Stotts, I don't think he's a bad choice

This must have been fake news if we’re discussing replacing our coach -

It would be a bad move to fire Terry for Luke. The Blazer players would be pissed if this happened.
It would make no sense to them and I am not sure they would respect him, similar to the Laker vets now.
Luke is getting roasted right now in LA.

I believe Luke is a good up and coming coach, but he was not ready to take over the Lakers. Is he now?
He was OK last year with a bunch of young players, but you could just tell it would not work with LBJ.
IMO he needs to go back and be an assistant and wait his turn again.

If Terry left on his own, then maybe you go after Luke but I don't see much of a difference between he and Luke.
Did I say Luke is getting completely roasted in LA?

Truthfully, who would work with LeBron? The guy kills coaches. Just recognize that, make him Player/Coach and watch the Lakers continue to suck. I’m happy with that.

Not many. But lets face it the only reason Luke got the job in the first place was he took over a well oiled machine in GS while not doing anything to fuck it up while Kerr was recuperating. There were others that were more deserving for the LA job, but the Lakers wanted to run the Warrior offense without having the Warrior starters or their depth. They wanted to Run and Gun at a high pace and wear teams down. Obviously that is not LBJ's game.

Luke's personality would worry me. He's is even more laid back then Terry.

Maybe they can get Phil Jackson to come back out of retirement. That would be...interesting.

Note the location of that tweet.

Now think about Detroit. Are they doing anything noteworthy with their two all-star level bigs in a very shallow conference? No.

Coaching awards dont mean much of anything.

Luke was a fine coach for the Lakers. But not for coach killer Lebron James.

I get the feeling a lot of players aren't too thrilled with Lebron's "leadership" style either. I'd take playing on Dame's team all day every day every year every decade over Lebron James.

I’m not the biggest Stotts fan in the world but Luke Walton is a tremendous downgrade from Terry lol. Terrible suggestion tbh.

It will be interesting to see who joins him next season. His banana boat buddies are all retiring, so how do the younger super stars view him?
Do they view him like many viewed Kobe......major respect for his greatness..but are a little leery of playing with him because he dominates the ball and can be a little arrogant. I think many good players will want to play with him, but I wonder how many great ones will.

If the Blazer do this year what they have done in the last two years under Terry, I would consider it. Hot streaks in the regular season mean very little in terms of post season success with this team. We've seen it before.

I hope this year is different but until there is evidence to the contrary that something has really changed, he could be CoY and I'd consider letting him go a'ka what Toronto did unless there is better Playoff success.

That doesn't really make a case for Luke though. For me if they make a change then it has to be in a different direction.
