The Iowa Wolves rallied past the Birmingham Squadron, 115-113, on Saturday evening at the Legacy Arena.

Iowa (2-0), which erased a double figure deficit late in third quarter, had five players record double figure points in the comeback win. Forward Brian Bowen II tallied a season-high 30 points and 17 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season. Two-way guard McKinley Wright IV posted his second-straight points/assists double-double with 18 points and 12 assists. Forward Vincent Edwards had 22 points, five rebounds and four assists.

Birmingham (0-3) led by 12 points with 1:20 to go in third quarter but the Wolves answered with an 11-0 scoring run that carried into the fourth quarter and cut their deficit to one. Seven of those points in the run were scored by Wright and the last two came off a reverse layup by Canyon Barry, who finished with 12 points off the bench. Joe Young, who had 27 points for the Squadron, quickly answered with a three-pointer.

The two teams traded baskets over the next several minutes with five score ties before Iowa finally took its first lead since the fourth quarter when Edwards drained a three with 3:16 left to put the Wolves up one. They stretched their lead to six with 1:33 to go after Wright's runner. However, Birmingham didn't go away easily as it scored four to pull within two and one final chance with six seconds left but Wright stripped the basketball from Jared Harper to seal the win. Harper scored a game-high 28 points.

Iowa returns home to Des Moines this Thursday, Jan. 13 against the Memphis Hustle with tipoff scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CST at Wells Fargo Arena.
