Is there any way the Blazers could sign Kevin Durant? I get that Russell Westbrook is better than Damian. I get that he could be more comfortable staying in OKC or going to his hometown of Washington. But from a growth, age of roster, and flexibility angle, the Blazers might give him the best chance to win in the next five years. Is there any chance?

    No.

Allow to me elaborate. Not a chance.

I would say that the things he's likely interested in are much more prevalent elsewhere than here.

At the end of the game, I'll take Dame shooting clutch shots over Westbrook everytime

I don't see Durant wanting to be in Portland..if he did, we'd be contending though

Which teams right now are projected to have the cap space to give Durrant the max this summer? Who would be our competition? Which website is the best source for that?

I've had this discussion with a friend, which team is better with Durant on it, the current Thunder team or the current Blazers team. I think its a fair debate. Westbrook and Ibaka might be better but I think the Blazers as a whole are deeper.

And play more like one cohesive unit. Not that OKC is so individual they are like Houston, but there arent many teams out there, veteran or not, contenders or not, that have as much chemistry oozing out of them other than GS. From top to bottom, we have really gelled.

I *think* the debate should be between the Blazers and the Wizards

I assume Durant and Westbrook talk about the future. If KD thinks Westbrook is leaving the following year...then I would have to think KD leaves this summer. Laker fans think Westbrook is going back to LA.

It can be depressing but you also have to consider that even with the Cap Leap a lot of those figures are dependant on simply letting guys walk. Something that isn't typically wise unless you are rebuilding. Portland will have space and it's core intact and still have room.

As to Durant....don't be surprised if Pat Riley sweet talks him into joining Wade and Bosh...I read a while ago that Durant bought a house in Miami

If we drafted him we could have signed him, but we didn't draft him so we will never have a chance to have him on the team... never... ever... again.

but but but....we hadn't hired Olshey back then....all might be forgiven now that Chad Buchanan and Larry Miller aren't choosing our picks

The only scenario I can imagine is that if we get Boogie without giving up Dame or CJ or too much of our cap space.

Boogie/Dame/CJ is a desirable combination to join up with, basketball-wise.

Yes, of course the Blazers can sign Durant. Three things need to happen.

    1) Lillard throws a party and invites his teammates and also Durant
    2) Durant gets drunk and passes out
    3) Someone finds a Sharpie and everyone takes turn autographing him.
