I was thinking, especially after how good Okur has been playing, do the Jazz have the best bench in basketball? I noticed in the last game against the Pistons, we out scored their bench 45-14. And I don't think our bench has been outplayed by the other teams bench so far this year. I think some of it might be the way Sloan coaches, he doesn't start the best 5 but the 5 best that play together. Then the best 5 finishes the game. Just look at our bench lineup: Memo Okur Matt Harpring Raja Bell Howard Eisley Curtis Borchardt Kurt Synder Kris Humphries Once Arroyo gets back, we'll have McLeod on the bench and then Lopez later on. We could move our bench to the East and they could make the playoffs out there. So what do you guys think? Best in the game?
Good bench, but not the best. IMO, that bench is great defensively, but lacks inside strength. Bochardt really deserves to be on the bench because he is not starter material, and Humphries is a rookie. Okur, though big, is also more of a mid-range guy rather than a back-to the basket player. The best bench belongs to Detroit.
I think that the Jazz do have the best bench in the game, I mean if you got Raja Bell and Harpring coming off your bench it should be good enough for a bench but you guys still got Okur, McLeod, Lopez, and Eisley. But you guys are stacked at the PG position and need a proven big man over Borchardt.
What about Indiana? Stephen Jackson Austin Croshere Fred Jones Jonathan Bender Anthony Johnson Scott Pollard David Harrison James Jones
Dallas has the best overall bench Jason Terry Jerry Stackhouse Marquis Daniels Alan Henderson Shawn Bradley
lol did u just say Shawn Bradley? Seriously though, the Jazz have a great bench, and the reason for that is everyone Hustles. Sloan can get the best out of any player he has. Heck back in the years when we went to the finals, he got quality minutes out of some guys like Adam Keefe and Greg Foster.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AllNet:</div><div class="quote_post">Dallas has the best overall bench Jason Terry Jerry Stackhouse Marquis Daniels Alan Henderson Shawn Bradley</div> Calvin Booth isn't bad himself, yea they do have the best overally bench in terms of depth and quality.
The Jazz have a great bench. In the latest game, Collins got in foul trouble. Enter Mehmet Okur, who vastly improved on what Collins was doing. The bench players come on and the Jazz don't miss a beat. Other teams benches may have an edge in individual talent, but the Jazz aren't about individuals. Utah defintely has one of the best benches in the game, arguably the best, and Sloan isn't afraid to use it.
I think Dallas' bench also compliments the starters, look at how Stackhouse and JT have been playing, they've been keeping the enrgy up, and Stackhouse has been making jumpers :suspicous
Well, I am a Mavs fan, but had to look at this. My quick math comes up with this: Utah bench: 43PPG, 20RPG, 14APG Dallas bench: 43PPG, 17RPG, 9APG So at this point, you gotta give the nod to the Jazz, but certainly these teams benchs have been a huge part of these teams being a combined 12 and 2.
