Why not? The Blazers could use another shooter.

Fredette best case turns out to be a player who can get his own, much like CJ already can. Not being able to crack the Spurs roster tells you that you don't want him. They are looking for a guy similar to what his upside would be. Someone to replace Marco to take minutes off of Ginobili. Somebody else might take a swing at him if they are desperate. I suggest everybody go read this thread and think about who you would actually drop from the roster to add Jimmer. Outside of players who will be cut in order to get down to 15 players. I don't see anyone on there whom I would substitute Fredette for.

Not just know, but fuck, fuck, fucking, fuckity, no fucking way no. Do you put any thought at all into these posts, or do you just automatically think we should sign everyone else's cast offs?

Oh sure, every team could use more shooters, which is exactly why no one in their right mind would sign Fredette. The guy came into the league with a reputation as a lights out, long distance shooter, but his number of made 3-pointers has decreased every year he's been in the league. Last year in NO, he was flat out atrocious. He made only 9 (nine!) 3-pointers all season in over 500 minutes played. His 3FG% was .188. And when he's not making shots (which is pretty much all the time) he doesn't give you anything else.

Fredette sucks so bad, there isn't a player on our current training camp roster I would cut to sign him and there are probably 15 guys in the D league I'd take over Fredette. What's Antoine Walker doing these days? I'd sign him before I'd give a roster spot to Fredette - and Antoine Walker is one of my least favorite NBA players of all time. Fuck, I'll even top that. Fat Ass Felton made more 3-pointers and shot a higher percentage than Fredette last season. So, if Dallas cuts Felton, are you going to suggest we pick him up, too?

I'd take a look at him or other training camp cuts for our 15th spot. Far more likely he becomes an NBA rotational player than Luis Montero.

Because he's a more intriguing project. He needs to switch up his game and maybe his body too, but the freedom he'd get in stotts' system might give him his best chance to eventually succeed. I'm not saying sign him, just that if the option was Frazier or Fredette, id go Jimmer. I don't like undersized point guards that can't shoot. Jimmer can shoot, despite the bad percentages last year.

No sir... learn from the Adam Morrison track record. Guys who are successful in smaller college conferences then lay complete eggs in the pros over 3 years aren't changing their stripes.

Is he actually a PG? Or an undersized SG who is struggling to score.? I am fine if we want to add a back up PG who is actually a PG. Someone who can break down a defense, play defense, and set up his teammates. But why add someone who we hope might some day turn out to be as good as CJ? We already have a CJ and a Dame. My preference would be someone who adds a different skill set to that position.

I say sign him. We can't have too many marginally effective white guys.

I agree. So let's sign Jimmer until we can find that marginally effective white guy....

Fredette is a pure scorer who adds little else beyond 3pt shooting and scoring.

He's way undersized at SG, and little ability at PG.

This guy didn't make the cut and he's probably better than Fredette
