Noticed he was grabbing at his left shoulder and wincing a couple of times last night. Have heard nothing else about it, but I wouldn't be surprised. Blazer fans aren't allowed to have nice things.

The main part of his offense is to tilt his shoulder down and plow into the guy between him and the basket. It must hurt after every game.

And Dame hurt his ribs again and was grabbing them and wincing. And DJJ hurt his leg and was limping a bit and wincing. Guys get dinged up every game and have to play through stuff that would have us couch warriors laid up for two weeks. I think the reason you haven’t heard anything about Kanter is that he’s not hurt badly enough to miss any games.

The original poster was referring to the fact that Kanter could barely play for us in the playoffs because of his shoulder. After he heroically endured, Olshey thanked him by dumping him.

The original poster is paying me another 20 bucks to tell you that another thing he meant was that with Nurkic out for 2 months, if Kanter goes out, our goose is cooked.

Any other questions you want me to answer about what he meant?

That's one way of saying Kanter was too slow in contemplating Portland's offer.

If by dumped you mean offered him every dollar possible in free agency which Kanter didn't accept, then yeah.

Man I'd love to get Jarrett Allen or Larry Nance Jr. from the Cavs since they have so many bigs. We need an insurance policy at center IMO

I thought Giles was that insurance policy. Apparently so did Olshey but he didn't check with Stotts

Actually, Olshey didn't dump Kanter on purpose. He took his eye off the ball. After Kanter starred for us in the playoffs, Olshey considered his golden boy Hood to be top priority, and Kanter an automatic signing who would lick the scraps after Hood's plate was filled. Kanter perceived this shabby treatment, said he wasn't comfortable, and took one of his other offers, Boston. Surprised, Olshey looked at his Free Agent list of big men who supposedly could shoot the 3, and signed Tolliver hours later.

Kanter was and is far more important to us than Hood. Olshey as usual has no talent at judging forwards or centers. Which is why Olshey can co-exist only with a guard-oriented coach.

That isn't accurate at all. Kanter was made an offer, when he didn't accept and the Blazers heard Hood was now possibly available they went that direction instead.

Hood (prior to Achilies) was a much better signing at the tax MLE than Kanter anyways.
