    You knew it was coming.

    Oden was the better prospect.

I'd take a productive Kevin Durant over a suit wearing Greg Oden.

These injuries are more than a coincidence. These injuries are a pattern.

    Shoulda' coulda' woulda'

No we should still take Oden. I thought about this last night when I couldn't sleep. If we knew Oden was going to be injured like this then maybe we pick Durant but even then probably not. I would always pick the best prospect especially if he is a center or a PG over a SF. Durant might end up being one of the top 3-4 SF's but there usually at least 3-4 good SF's in every draft. It is lucky if there is a real good center in a 5 drafts. People are going to say we should have drafted Durant but they are wrong.

Kevin Durant doesn't make this team better. With him, we're still a jump shooting team who has trouble scoring in the paint and rebounding. Oden was our remedy.

Generally, you don't take wing players over Centers.

In this case, you take the wing player over a Center who cannot stay healthy to save his life.

This is a business and hindsight 20/20 is always convenient, but picking Greg Oden over Kevin Durant is turning out to be a horrible and massive business mistake.

I'm not even that high on Durant after watching him in the NBA so far. He has had his good games but far to few for my liking. He is just a volume shooter that IMO isn't any better then a couple other SF's in the last few drafts but picked way to high. If we had to pick some one other then Oden I would go with Horford not Durant.

Hell there is only one or two even wanting to take Durant now after all the Oden injuries. I don't think many have jumped ship from reading this thread.

I'm not jumping ship. This isn't just a sprained foot. This is a pattern that Oden is going to have an injury plagued career.

Let's not forget a pre-draft MRI showed he also had a bulging disc in his back.

Is Durant even better than Horford? Durant has not impressed me at all.

If you want to talk about should of's - we should have drafted C.Paul instead of Webster. Now that is a huge mistake in a draft but every team has similar mistakes. I bet we have as good of track record in the last 5-6 years as anybody at drafting the best player.

I was on the Durant band wagon for this very reason until the very end. But I decided that a dominant center is fairly rare and with one a team can go far.

I hope Greg can come back and show he is worthy of all the hype. It's a wait and see type of thing. Kevin Durant is a good player, he's only 20! His skill set at 6'11" is going to be scary once he bulks up.
